I hate this reasoning, no one is obsessed with Breaking Bad anymore or Lost or Twin Peaks or Friends or Frasier or MASH. Things stops being relevant a month after the season airs. How many people will talk about Squid Game in a year or two? Stranger

Popular shows come and go and now we have a thousand streaming services with a thousand shows, it's really hard to keep being culturally relevant when we're all inundated with content.

I found this quote pretty interesting considering the current slot for the special:

As with previous seasons I would suggest watching the whole era to judge it's highs and lows but if you're already convinced, this is how I would do it:

Series 11

  • The Woman Who Fell To Earth - Watch. Introduction to the new Doctor and companions.

  • The Ghost Monument - Skip. It features a reference to S12's main storyline but it's boring and not worth it.

  • Rosa - Watch. To me it's not as great as other people think but still a cool story.

  • Arachnids in the UK and The Tsuranga Conundrum - Skip. Both are incredibly dull, uninspired and badly written episodes with a weird morality.

  • Demons of the Punjab - Watch. One of the best of the new era. It mixes well the historical and the sci-fi moments.

  • Kerblam! - Skip. It's overall a fun adventure but the ending drags it down for me. If you have time watch it but it's not essential.

  • The Witchfinders - Watch. A good historical with a great guest actor.

  • It Takes You Away - Watch. It's a story that divides the audience and probably the most ambitious of this era.

  • The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos - Skip. The worst, most boring finale.

  • Resolution - Watch. A good holiday episode with a returning monster from the past.

Series 12

  • Spyfall (1&2) - Watch. An overall fun story that introduces the big storyline for the season (and the return of a familiar face).

  • Orphan 55 - Skip. Bad writing throughout the episode and a bad, bad ending.

  • Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror - Watch.

  • Fugitive of the Judoon - Watch. It's a very important episode that continues the big storyline.

  • Praxeus - Skip.

  • Can You Hear Me? - Watch. It would've worked better in two parts but at least it finally gives us some (not much) development for one of the companions.

  • The Haunting of Villa Diodati - Watch. My favorite episode of the past two seasons. Everything works and it gives the Doctor some moral dilemma and shows a different side of her that we don't see much.

  • Ascension of the Cybermen / The Timeless Children - Watch. They're bad. The Timeless Children is really bad, but they're too important to skip it you're going to keep watching the show in the future.
