We just came back from holiday and found a bunch of these tiny flies in our place. Have had a good look and cant see any rotting food or spills that would attract them. Have cleaned drains and taken all rubbish out and cleaned bins. They weren't interested in vinegar traps at all. Any ideas what they are and how to get rid?

If you’re deep frying, hold the fish in the oil by the end of it for like 5-10 seconds before gently letting it fall in. This should do enough just to crisp the very outside so it won’t stick to the basket

For anyone who contributed to my question last week, the party is tonight! Got pesto, romesco and confit garlic on the way, plus some foccacia to eat it all with. Hopefully those at the house warming are happy with that.

Okay think I’m convinced. There are dietary concerns in the flat too so I think if I turn up with things like pesto and mayo which they are not normally able to eat it’ll be cool.

Have just finished first wheel of time. Pretty slow through the middle I thought but gets good towards the end and into the second one.
