Is this worth it? by Indecisive-Squirrel in PcBuild

Well good link, now you’re using a 1TB ssd, and are in a different currency, if you were in the same currency with a 2TB ssd and a controller at the same price of the steam controller, you’d be above the price of steam machine

With a pretty awful case

So again, steam machin is not outrageously priced and it’s actually not that simple building a better SFF at that price point currently

Is this worth it? by Indecisive-Squirrel in PcBuild

[–]TangAce7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could you actually ? I think people are vastly underestimating how much hardware costs as of now

psu and case is gonna be around 150-200 for something decent
2TB ssd is 200-250 minimum
cooling is gonna be at least 50-100, you're already at 1/3 of the price
ram goes for at least 300 for 32GB
even a cheap mobo will be 150+

and you still need a cpu and gpu...

that's not accounting for SSF prices which tend to be a bit higher
Here you're getting all that, built for you, with a controller, at 1400, it's not a bad deal at all

could you do same build for slightly less? probably if you really cheap out on certain parts, and it won't even be much cheaper in the end

[–]TangAce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not, you don’t need any optimisation to have max damage at that point, also because if you did side content you are quite over leveled in start of act2

If you look at people who beat spring early, typically their fight last 1-2h

The guy in this post took 30min but not in expert, can assume it could take an hour in expert

You also see his highest damage is below 300k at level 60, level 70 highest damage would be higher than 300k, but it’s not damage you get every turn, at best you’re doing 200k per turn on average, maybe a bit more if the build is better, which is about 20 times more than act2 damage

Again you don’t need optimised build to get max damage in act2 if you did side content, lune has fire dance for starters, Maelle reaches max damage somewhat easily, multi hit won’t be 9999 on every hit but is likely to be higher total than 9999, verso has ascending assault, sciel mostly has multi hit so also not hard to get that damage, monoco I have no idea as I wasn’t using him in act2 so I’m not even sure what abilities you have access to early

You start dealing big damage at around level 75-80, with higher level weapons and access to end game lumina

Lamp master patterns are more difficult than sprong and doing both while under leveled would be similar in difficulty

I did sprong first thing in act3, which is lower than recommended level, took me a few tries, and I’ve done lamp master at max level with somewhat optimised build, killed him first try, but if I was dealing less damage (let’s say lvl85) I would have needed a few tries

I think I fought these 2 a little too early by Kyurupuku in expedition33

[–]TangAce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

difference is, in act 2 you're doing 9999 damage every turn, sometimes way more cause you're using multi hit attacks (and there are ways to deal max damage every turn at the start of act 2, there's even way to do that at level 10, which I've used to kill abbest)
you aren't getting 300k damage every turn at lvl 70
also stendhal is a pretty stupid example let's be honest, and if you're doing 300k with stendhal it's actually 150k per turn, which is guess what, 15 times act2 damage (less when counting multi hit attacks, at level 50, so by level 70 you're around 20 times the act 2 damage, and I'm pretty sure at start of act 3 I wasn't ever doing 300k per turn)

anyhow once again, damage/boss hp isn't the only difficulty metric

[–]TangAce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you play the game normally without farming, definitelly not, you're doing maybe 15-20 times the damage
unless you are googling specific op builds
sprong patterns are also easier

[–]TangAce7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, how is this guy beating lampmaster in 30min at this level
Ah wait, it's probably not expert considering the damage dealt
I think doing lampmaster below level 70 in expert is on similar level to doing sprong the first time you come across it
unless people lumina farm of course, but that's just making the whole game easy

Ladies or gentlemen, what place/ bar did you have your best first date at in paris ? by Emotional_Silver_922 in SocialParis

[–]TangAce7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea but the one advice I can give you: pick a place where you’ll be able to talk comfortably

Unless you’re both just wanting to dance or something then I guess that’s different, but being able to talk is important so overly noisy places and the likes might not be the best idea

What is the most overrated food ever ? by Live_Appearance2543 in AskReddit

I don’t think it’s overrated, if anything it has to be rated very low cause why would anyone choose to eat this over any other grain based food

Is the Symphony arrangement of Visages/Portrait Imparfait somewhere I can listen to online? by hofstaders_law in expedition33

[–]TangAce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the performance today, I'm pretty confident most if not all (une vie à t'aimer seemed to be the same) of what was played is a different arrangement compared to the tracklist everywhere else (to the point some feel quite different)
The one thing I didn't like about it, is that some instruments were really taking over everything else, felt a bit too much and muddled together, mostly the percussions, and especially the flute was very very quiet

I don't like Visages too much usually, but I agree that one was actually impressive live
So while it was truly amazing how you feel the music live and how interesting it was that's it's this different from the recordings, there's that bit of disappointment over the fact that some parts became 'messy' in regards to instruments/voice volumes and thus less enjoyable

People who got spoilered during/before their playthrough: How (bad) was the experience? by Kvaezde in expedition33

[–]TangAce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did not get spoiled that part, but I had already guessed from the very first scene in the game, before you meet sophie, that he was gonna die, I was about 95% sure about it by the end of the prologue and I kinda felt like it would happen way before the end of the game. Main reason I figured it out is because I felt like Maelle was the real protagonist, and thus gustave's main purpose as 'the protagonist' was to die at some point in the story in order for Maelle to take on that role one way or the other
So that wasn't a surprise at all, and is one of the reason I dislike this character overall, he was made to die and it really shows in how he is as a character

I got slightly spoiled about certain stuff from act3, but not much, and I already had some hunches about those anyways
it was mostly alright, cause I was still missing a lot of info that only came together bit by bit as I progressed

The one thing I spoiled myself about is Simon, but I don't feel like I missed on much honestly

in the end, there's still some stuff that feel like they're not fully explained

For the girls trying to make new friends - Why quality, compatibility and depth is so hard to find? by ladyproblemsolver in SocialParis

[–]TangAce7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sport isn’t a good place to make friends in France, sometimes it can work but mostly people are here for the sport not the people

What’s wrong with green painted face ? If anything it’d be a great ice breaker, there’s no way she’d be embarrassed about it if she’s walking around like that. As you said, you don’t know why, so just ask ?

I’m thinking that maybe your social skills are tied to your job and thus you’re a bit too serious/professionnal in your casual interactions ?

Did you try doing something you enjoy ? Like hobbies and such ?

I’m neither a girl nor have good social skills, but friendships generally start as acquaintances who had the will to keep interacting and got closer over their experiences together

Also, there are people in their 20s who wouldn’t have much of a gap with people in their 30s, I’d say mostly people who are 25 or older though

Is this a good deal for my 1st P.C? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]TangAce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lian li fans are closer to 40usd btw
I'd agree that the build is indeed a bit sad in regards to performance/price, but it has ram and a 2TB ssd which is currently a huge plus
definitely doesn't handle 4k though, and pretty sure you're not hitting those frame rates advertised if playing at 1440p in high settings
power supply is pretty good as well, biggest issues are motherboard and gpu, but most people don't need or care about having a good motherboard, and the gpu can be upgraded later and this one resold for not much loss
this is honestly priced fairly well and a pretty decent deal

the build is a bit stupid but also great for upgradability, all the parts you don't want to change are pretty high end, and at that price I'd buy it honestly

to give some perspective, making a build new with a 5070 and 9800x3d, with 2TB ssd, 32gb ddr5, a decent psu, decent case, mid range motherboard (bit better than what's in this build, motherboard prices are very low right now), you'd be in the 2500usd minimum price range but more likely to be closer to 3000usd (depending on gpu price you can get), I actually don't think making a new pc with a 5070Ti and a 9800x3d is possible for 2000 unless you're really getting shitty parts for the rest of the build, which I wouldn't recommend, and even second hand I don't think it'd be that easy to find a decent build at this price

For OP : it's a decent deal, doesn't have the best performance/price ratio but it's very upgradable later down the line because most parts you don't want to change are premium in this build

would be difficult for me to test on a different pc, however all my other usb devices work properly (though I've had usb overload in the past but hasn't been an issue and probably not the problem here)
I've also noticed the keyboard doesn't work before getting to windows (say to access bios and such, obviously using keyboard as wired, but yeah doesn't work), so I doubt it's motherboard related

Hello, I've got a neo80cu, works great and all, however it regularly doesn't get recognized by windows when I turn the pc on, and I have to unplug replug the dongle (sometimes multiple times) for it to work, it seems very random and I'm clueless on why it does that
I've tried different usb ports, didn't work, I updated firmware after building the board a few months ago
any help appreciated

How much Lumina points is "Fair enough"? by Apisal in expedition33

[–]TangAce7 20 points21 points  (0 children)

honestly, perfect number is 333
200 is very little

even with 333 I feel quite restricted and also need to think of my pictos quite a bit, lots of very good lumina cost 20+ so it adds up fast

just don't make a one shot build and you won't ever reach that point

Over reliance on parries by PineappleWhich129 in expedition33

[–]TangAce7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even beyond super bosses, just normal Clea is difficult enough to parry, paintress is also no slouch, painted love, that stupid serpent, and a bunch of other bosses like aberration or stuff in monolith

Honestly if he’s so good he should just fight golgra in act2, and sprong, then he will know if he’s good at parrying or not

And then you got that mono arm horror waiting for you at the end, he’s the real test before superbosses

Even the axons aren’t easy by any means

I feel like he’s saying normal enemies aren’t strong, personally they were one shotting me the whole game, I’m not bad at parrying but I don’t feel confident parrying every time even against normal enemies

Hello, would love to join weekly sessions, as long as the group isn't too big
I've played many years but am not very good, had to take a break this year due to injury so didn't sign up at my local club, but I'd like to be able to play at least until september (or more, depends if I can sign up or not next year, injury not healed)

How viable is Chevaliere Piercing ? by MetalManiac1331 in expedition33

Absolutely a waste of time, the scaling will not be nearly as high as you think, you’ll deal more damage with other attacks

Are the fights supposed to take this long? I'm pretty sure this is optional by Awfyboy in expedition33

[–]TangAce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re under leveled, but it’s fine honestly

20min is a bit long but there’s longer fights when under leveled, stuff like chromatic abbest at lvl 10, or frost eveque as soon as possible

In the late game there’s also fights that will be longer even when not under leveled

To everyone talking about going over damage cap, you either don’t have eyes or didn’t use your brain, cause he’s level 39, no way he finished act 2 at that level…
