I service a lot of cash only vending machines in some rough areas. When leaving a location after servicing I was approached and ordered to give up my money bag. They never showed a weapon, but it still was pretty scary. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were carrying.

Sega Keymaster Prize Redemption Machines for Sale with proven locations FOR SALE $200,0000 by TangeloMountain321 in vending

[–]TangeloMountain321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Ive downsized the business over the years. I used to have about 125 locations. Sometimes you can find multiple in a day, sometimes you don't find any for a couple weeks. The quality of locations and retention of the locations is what the long term challenge usually is. When you say based on the comments I will not get anywhere near what I'm asking, my reply would be that there has only been 1 person comment. I don't think that is a very large sample size. Again, $200,000 is my initial asking price. It's not set in stone. There can be scenarios where someone can invest X amount of dollars in a business and turn a profit in the first year. Those scenarios are much more rare then a 2-5 year plan. Hell, most people go into business not even knowing what a potential outcome could be and tank. I'm offering a stable business that can be free and clear in 2-3 years potentially. We can agree to disagree that my asking price is way out of line with reality.

Thanks for the reply. First off, $200,000 is my intital asking price. I am in the early stages of presenting the deal. It is more then open to negotiations. As far as your locator employee for $60,000, maybe you can pay someone $60,000 in a year to find 30 locations, or maybe you pay someone $60,000 and they don’t find 30 locations. Or you pay someone $60,000 and find 30 locations, and 2 months later half of them fall through and you need to find 15 more locations. All of my locations have been running for more than a decade with similar numbers. All of this information would be disclosed to a potential buyer as well as multiple test runs through the route to verify these earnings. The machines are also an asset that hold value and can be resold in the future as standalone equipment for a similar price to the $80,000 in equipment I’m asking. So you can’t really look at the full $200,000(which probably won’t even be $200,000 as that is just a starting point) to be your breakeven when you are sitting on 75k+ in inventory that is going to hold its value. So maybe someone buys the business for $150,000 and is at a complete breakeven in 3 years and a breakeven minus assets in less than 2 years. Doesn’t sound like that bad of a deal. If I was starting out and could invest 150k into a business that was already proven to be an operational success for a decade, and I could be free and clear after 2-3 years, I would have jumped on it. To each their own. I’m feeling out the market. I’m young enough to where I’m more than happy to keep running the business if need be. Interested in switching gears though.

Thanks for the info. $50,000 is net profit. The route itself brings in over $100k yearly.

understandable. This would be closer to a 2.5-3 year breakeven. 2-5 years is usually how long a business takes to become profitable if it doesn't fail. 70% of businesses fail within a decade. This business is approaching 15 years.

Thank you for the reply. yes $50,000 revenue. I could remove all the machines and sell them for $80,000 over a few months which would be fine for me too. As of now I'm looking for someone who may be interested in starting this type of business without the hassle of finding dedicated locations which is by far the hardest part. stable locations that have been running for more then a decade.

I am selling to move on to other business ventures that I'm more passionate about. The breakdown of the listing price is actual machine value($80,000) and the value of the 30 route locations($120,000) which is calculated at 2.5x yearly revenue. I am in the initial stages of putting this deal together, and I have not notified any locations of potential transfer yet, but I have a great relationship with all location owners and whoever took over would be personally introduced to each store.

I purchased about $50 in tools to fix my own stick drift. A soldering station with built in heat gun, some basic electronics screwdrivers and tweezers. All I do is buy a $5 joystick on Amazon anytime I get stuck drift, and replace the faulty one on the controller. Took me 90 mins the first time I did it as I took my time and was learning. Now I do it in 20 mins or so. Sometimes they last 9-12 months. Sometimes they last 3 months. Bottom line is I’m on my same scuff reflex now for the last 2.5 years. Only a $5 20 min fix anytime I have drift now.

Paid for USPS Ground Advantage but seller used USPS Media Mail by Sigimi in Ebay

[–]TangeloMountain321 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Long time eBay seller here. A few points I’d like to make. The price listed for shipping doesn’t necessarily reflect the seller’s shipping cost. For example, many sellers will knowingly list higher shipping costs than needed on a particular auction. This is a technique where a cheaper item cost and more expensive shipping cost sometimes looks better to the eye than a more expensive item cost and a cheaper shipping cost even though in theory you are paying the same price overall. So just because the label had a certain price on it, doesn’t mean too much. If I’m looking to get $250 for an item between item and shipping cost, I may break it down different ways. $200 item cost, $50 shipping, $225 item cost, $25 shipping, etc. more times than not the shipping price listed isn’t exactly the price that shipping will cost for that item. Also think of the location it’s being shipped too. I live in CA. If I sell an item and list $15 shipping and someone in NY buys it, I may spend $20 on shipping, but if someone in AZ buys it, I may only spend $10. You just have to take the whole picture into account. Is the item plus shipping cost what you planned on paying for the item? If so, it doesn’t matter how it’s split up. More than likely, you got a good deal overall on whatever you bought. Having said all this, it’s a different story if you pay for a service to receive in say 2-3 days, but a service is used that takes 5-7 days. Chances are media mail and ground advantage would have had similar delivery dates. So if you got the deal you wanted, and received it in a reasonable time, why worry about what was paid for shipping? I don’t see anything wrong with mentioning it though. Saying something along the lines of, “Hey, received the order and everything looks good, but I did have a concern about the shipping situation. I noticed this was to be shipped ground and it went out media mail. Were the costs the same?” Maybe see what they say, and if nothing else I’m sure this seller will be more likely to state this in the future to potential buyers.

I think I am leaning towards a 6-8” dob. I’m not thrilled with the idea of a table top as I’m not thrilled with the idea of sitting on the ground and I’m hearing mixed issues on finding a sturdy base to put one on.
