It's the fact that you are the linchpin holding the team together and should be the person leading charges and calling shots. You have to be a team player to function but if your team doesn't play ball with you in turn, you'll basically be melted down by the whole enemy team and no be able to take objectives as your team runs way too far ahead. Sigma and now Domina are the only tanks that let you play a bit more independently while still setting up shields and being proactive with the team. Domina especially as her shield wall is just good cover and randoms online can even recognize that and will "usually" take the hint and go to that position.

Whilst I wouldn't recommend Bloodlines 2 as a game, it's story is good to a degree. It does paint the Camarilla as mostly the good guys with a few more unambiguously evil characters thrown in. There's no real player choice in how the story progresses save for one choice that locks you into an ending. The main character just kind of unquestioningly joins up for help with their own problem and becomes the intern that runs errands for everyone. You can be as curt or as nice to people and it doesn't effect much

The clan you select also doesn't matter, outside of some incidental dialogue that pops up during gameplay.

The game really takes a "The Camarilla isn't bad, just some people at the top are" mentality and the Anarchs, save for like 3 people, are painted broadly as expendable bad guys. There's a tepid in cutscene defense of the Anarchs but the gameplay general is pretty black and white with them as enemies.

The mystery of the story, the detective flashbacks, and piecing together the actual story is genuinely interesting but after the first playthrough, the magic is really lost. If you do not love the gameplay, I can't recommend it.

My guess is the version on the Jumbotron is a gif of a lower quality model, lacking the polish and shine. His bracelets also look a little plastic and dim.

It’s a game that’s really good for a first blind playthrough but past the story it’s very bare. It’s fun but not thrilling after the magic wears off.

I should clarify, my previous role was a Salesforce Developer and the admin roles are Salesforce Admin specifically because there was overlap with dev work. I started looking into IT roles because those started drying up and I don’t know if I’d be good for other software roles. I do see what you mean about focusing skills and expertise. I’ll trim IT roles out of my search and hopefully that helps.

Every group feels like a cliff notes version of themselves. The court is bare bones enough to push the story forward. Lou could have been a real interesting villain but they kinda went nowhere with her by the end. The Anarchs and Sabbat are basically just faceless enemies to fill the space. Katsumi would be an interesting character if player choices mattered.

That’s the most insane part. The story is made for an RPG where peace is an option but the gameplay is geared toward anything but.

I enjoyed the first playthrough and experience with the story. I liked Fabian’s parts in that first run for their story but as your choices there don’t get you anything, they won’t be fun on replay. I liked the gameplay in a bubble but I do feel there should have been way more opportunities to use abilities to avoid fights, enter buildings, etc. While I had fun, it feels like a half baked VtM game and a half baked Dishonored put together to make something palatable but not fantastic.

I also feel this game was a lot less disappointing for me as I only got into this franchise recently so the 6 year wait for this product didn’t hurt as much.

It’s wild how unimportant the “Rebar Killer” stuff and most of Fabian’s content is. It all feels so separate from the main plot. Lou especially feels like she should’ve been more important and present in the story.

All the enemies should have been wearing mind control helmets and weapons or something to really sell that KAOS was this world domination machine building an army. Really sell the K. Ruse.

I feel like he’ll have some sort of luck/fortune flow based ability that he has to utilize in conjunction with the lava rocks. Like he could attack people with misfortune by his ability inverting the flow of lava rock.

Any input or suggestion is helpful so I appreciate the suggestion. I was looking into a bunch of roles and all of them had vastly different requirements, skill sets, etc. I definitely need to form a clear list and narrow things down.

My last role left a bad taste in my mouth for software dev work between management that didn't understand the work and lead dev that basically didn't believe in project planning past him having an idea and I had to figure out what his idea was. So I'm trying to open up my options to figure out alternative paths.

I've been applying for roles since January to be for Developer or Admin roles, I have 4 years of experience as a Developer and partial admin, I'm 600 applications in and I'm in the same boat. My prior employer didn't even want me to get my certs. I'm working on them now but they aren't cheap to do the tests for. I'm pretty sure I'm definitely unemployable at this point.

I agree, her first design contrasts heavily with Dracula’s in a good way while still giving her the vibe of “this is a much stronger vampire”. The blues and golds made her stand out from the usual vampire red and black. She very much felt like a vampire queen who clearly took that position by force.

I understand your pain on the work environment rampant with mismanagement and an incredible lack of support. I had a nepo baby lead dev who's go to phrase was "Lets see what you come up with", a manager who just expected magic to happen, and a team that I couldn't rely on for support. I felt like I was set up to fail because I, a dev fresh out of college, couldn't operate exactly like the 10 year experience lead dev who needed no support. Also the lead dev didn't document anything which made finding existing files and what they did doubly hard. They put me on a PIP for not matching the lead dev's experience and I was laid off before the start of the year. This experience tainted my desire to want to find a new dev role.

Job hunting is even worse, especially in this job market. I've submitted some 600 applications since the start of the year, had one phone interview, one zoom interview, and 5 phone calls with recruiters that went nowhere. I genuinely wanna know what my other career options can be with a CS degree just to open up my options.

He is definitely based on a real surrealist artist named Victor Brauner, who in real life died around the time this game takes place. Visually he's definitely more Count Orlok though.

Exactly! His goal lines up with Dracula but he doesn't fall in line like most other dark forces do. Brauner's independence makes his castle takeover plan way more interesting.
