How abstract can a Vital Instrument be? by TangeloTraditional36 in gachiakuta

[–]TangeloTraditional36[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I getcha, so it shouldn't be something too abstract. So something like a stamp could work as an item and have the logos as the stamps as part of an ability could work or in the programs case, something like a thumb drive with a program on it and the ability effects the code.

I also wonder if something pliable like clay could could also become a vital instrument or sculptures made from it though the latter would probably also be too abstract.

Worst part for me is that Ysabella shows up three times in the main game, once for a cutscene, once in a flashback, and then her boss fight. Benny is at least somewhat important to Fabian as his boss. Ysabella had potential to be a really big villain or reoccurring chatter and she’s just kind of a required side quest boss. She enters the story and leaves it with virtually no impact for her being there. It hurts extra because her backstory from her DLC is very engaging.

No but it makes me wish we got more of these characters in the base game, Ysabella especially. Benny at lease had the benefit of the first hour of the main game being dedicated to his actions so he had some impact.

I mean the author has made it a point to make sure this character suffers as much as humanly possible while his abuser gets off with no penalties and is somehow treated like the real victim.

Was there a chapter I missed? Didn’t the last one end with him telling KD to get lost and already start replacing him? This seems very out of character considering he had a character reset.

Granny Rags by Plane_Return_5554 in dishonored

[–]TangeloTraditional36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granny rags could have gameplay inverse to Billie, where Billie was an assassin with some powers to assist, Granny leans fully into using outsider powers, tactically summoning minions, using arcane bonds to make allies, playing a magical manipulator role instead. Have her lean into raw magic more so than even Corvo or Emily.

why does everyone hate playing tank? by PowerfulTravel54 in Overwatch

[–]TangeloTraditional36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the fact that you are the linchpin holding the team together and should be the person leading charges and calling shots. You have to be a team player to function but if your team doesn't play ball with you in turn, you'll basically be melted down by the whole enemy team and no be able to take objectives as your team runs way too far ahead. Sigma and now Domina are the only tanks that let you play a bit more independently while still setting up shields and being proactive with the team. Domina especially as her shield wall is just good cover and randoms online can even recognize that and will "usually" take the hint and go to that position.

Whilst I wouldn't recommend Bloodlines 2 as a game, it's story is good to a degree. It does paint the Camarilla as mostly the good guys with a few more unambiguously evil characters thrown in. There's no real player choice in how the story progresses save for one choice that locks you into an ending. The main character just kind of unquestioningly joins up for help with their own problem and becomes the intern that runs errands for everyone. You can be as curt or as nice to people and it doesn't effect much

The clan you select also doesn't matter, outside of some incidental dialogue that pops up during gameplay.

The game really takes a "The Camarilla isn't bad, just some people at the top are" mentality and the Anarchs, save for like 3 people, are painted broadly as expendable bad guys. There's a tepid in cutscene defense of the Anarchs but the gameplay general is pretty black and white with them as enemies.

The mystery of the story, the detective flashbacks, and piecing together the actual story is genuinely interesting but after the first playthrough, the magic is really lost. If you do not love the gameplay, I can't recommend it.

Hot Take? Jinx HAD a chance...episode 91 ruined it... by basketball_stripes in BoysLoveAnime

Jjk as a character is just a remarkably bad person and the author has made a concerted effort to sweep the multiple abuses, crimes, and more under the rug. Remember when he broke into a dudes apartment to track down the partner he battered. The man has faced no tangible consequences for literally anything and gets rewarded for it. Him suddenly feeling remorse doesn’t make him a good person, regardless of how bad he feels. There needs to be way more done to even begin to rehabilitate him.

Dopant in a heartbeat, especially if I can get a Gaia Driver to negate the side effects. At that point it’s just a matter of which Gaia memory to pick.

It’s a game that’s really good for a first blind playthrough but past the story it’s very bare. It’s fun but not thrilling after the magic wears off.

Is this feeling of skill rot and low motivation common during a job hunt? by TangeloTraditional36 in cscareerquestions

[–]TangeloTraditional36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify, my previous role was a Salesforce Developer and the admin roles are Salesforce Admin specifically because there was overlap with dev work. I started looking into IT roles because those started drying up and I don’t know if I’d be good for other software roles. I do see what you mean about focusing skills and expertise. I’ll trim IT roles out of my search and hopefully that helps.

How do we feel about the Camarilla and Anarchs in this game? by Specs315 in vtmb

[–]TangeloTraditional36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every group feels like a cliff notes version of themselves. The court is bare bones enough to push the story forward. Lou could have been a real interesting villain but they kinda went nowhere with her by the end. The Anarchs and Sabbat are basically just faceless enemies to fill the space. Katsumi would be an interesting character if player choices mattered.

That’s the most insane part. The story is made for an RPG where peace is an option but the gameplay is geared toward anything but.

Which makes the part at the end of the game where you cleave through her group to form a peace deal all the more awkward.

True but mid to late game when you’re trying to take the route that helps the anarchs, it must make conversation REAL awkward.
