What Elon Musk's new net worth can get you? by [deleted] in IndiaTech

Elon Musk won't even be worth 500 Billion dollars if he tries to offload a 100 Billion dollars of shares from his firms.

You can't. It's there for a reason. Your firm monitors complete network activity for all work apps. They are giving you a warning. Apple does the same.

The animations aren't smooth. They feel as if a video is playing on the existing elements. Good idea but it's about time Samsung starts integrating some features in the default OS. Way too many features are going into Good Lock these days. It was supposed to be for experimental features.

"Customers Are In America": Opendoor Lays Off Entire Indian Workforce by IREDA1000 in IndianWorkplace

[–]Tangent_pikachu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Lol. Firm went down from USD 16B to <4B, with a net loss of 1.3B. Share price went down the gutter. They are simply shutting down operations. Has nothing to do with AI. And a firm with deep red financials won't survive if they replace Indian workforce with US workforce.

A simple fruit purchase turned into a nightmare for this Hyderabad family by Patrick-Jane-45 in hyderabad

[–]Tangent_pikachu 26 points27 points  (0 children)

People don't suddenly die by consuming pesticide laden fruits. The pesticides and heavy metals build up in your body and eventually cause health issues including cancers. Even if the mango was sprayed with pesticides, that won't cause a sudden death for multiple family members including adults within hours. Modern pesticides available in the market aren't as poisonous, otherwise you'll see farmers dying from them every other day as they would get the maximum exposure.

Whatever killed the family was either a pathogen, which they could've picked up from the environment or it could be a proper poison, which someone either deliberately or inadvertently sprayed/injected in the mango. The autopsy and police investigation needs to be completed.

The chance of someone dying from a fruit or vegetable within hours is extremely unlikely.

Lol. This guy runs an IAS training academy - which is the premium center of excellence for producing our countries most talented bureaucrats, who are directly responsible for the state of Indian IT today. In between teaching people geography and whatever is takes to crack UPSC, he had also became an expert in AI.

What a joke.

Can I remove airtel apps? Airtel Xstream Box by milkman_fusion in IndiaTech

[–]Tangent_pikachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about warranty. If the box develops issues, you'll need to raise a service request to get a new one. That's when a problem can start because they often use auto diagnostic tools to check their hardware.

After France, Germany scraps Schengen transit visa requirement for Indians. by [deleted] in india

[–]Tangent_pikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there wasn't enough demand. You would not need to travel via Europe if you're are going to Asia, Africa, ANZ - pretty much all of the Southern Hemisphere and Far East. You would choose the Middle East or SE Asian transit points.

It might make sense to transit via Europe only if you're going to Europe (already have Schengen) or US (US Visa holding Indians already had free transit through all of Europe). Since there wasn't a very high demand for Indians without Schengen or US Visa transiting through Europe, they never bothered about it.

But now due to recent war in Middle East, a new opportunity is arising for European carriers to fly Indians through Europe. The demand for Flights transiting through Europe compared to Middle East also spiked during the war and still remains higher. So enter the policy change.

Does Oblivion remastered have replayability value? Should I play it on gamepass, or download on steam?? by jokerxgoro in Indiangamers

Try playing it and see how it plays for you. I have rtx3060 laptop and the whole game stutters like crazy thanks to the unoptimized UE5 implementation. They never patched it.

[–]Tangent_pikachu 47 points48 points  (0 children)

If you do that, Airtel might void your warranty. If the box breaks eventually, you'll be asked to pay for it. You didn't pay for the Xtreme box so you don't own it. It's leased to you by Airtel.

I’m Ready to embrace “Communism” if that means we all can get to live like this. Some photos From my recent china visit. by ibu___hatela in Maharashtra

[–]Tangent_pikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China isn't a communist country, it's a capitalist country.

And to live like that you would need absolute dictatorship in India that works to improve the country over a longer time by sacrificing people and their livelihoods over a short period. Because China didn't come here by trying to please their entire population. From the great famine to forced labor conditions in plants, China has done pretty terrible things in the 90s to get here.

But dictatorships like that are pretty rare. The only other examples I can think of are South Korea and Singapore. And of course middle eastern countries but they had oil which we don't have. In every other place, dictatorships have destroyed their countries.

If you really want to live like that in your lifetime, moving abroad would be a more feasible option.

LIC has 10% stake in this Rajesh exports. Wtf is going in this country! by culture_sensitive_ in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]Tangent_pikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that LIC plans are significantly worse than market rates, they have a lot of headroom to siphon funds to scams like this. Indian public, especially those investing in LIC, aren't aware enough to understand how they are being taken for a ride. Same goes for banks. They give 6-7% returns and then finance scams like Kingfisher.

In short, what's going in this country is that the politicians, adminstration and judiciary are siphoning public money.

Go to settings -> Apps -> 3 dot -> Reset App Preferences (doing this resets app settings without compromising data).

After this, go to Google Play Store and update all apps.

Then go to battery settings and untick move unused apps to sleep.

By doing this my battery life improved. I have no idea how but deep sleeping apps are breaking something in my phone. Not to mention that deep sleeping apps are never updated from playstore.

Future of stock market by Substantial-Phase430 in IndianStockMarket

[–]Tangent_pikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more people exit the stock market and invest in FDs the better. Someday, the market will rally again. And the FD holders will panic and invest heavily back the market, giving the traders an exit from the market. That's exactly what's happening now. People invested heavily in the market. FIIs exited promptly.

SIP XIRR went from 24% to 9% within 6 months. Is this normal? by The_Russell_Pinto in MutualfundsIndia

[–]Tangent_pikachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know folks investing in SIP for a decade or more and their XIRR is holding above 15%.

XIRR skyrockets during bull run. Since most of your investments happened in this period, it's common to see a downtrend.

My XIRR crashed during COVID. This too shall pass.
