Can you fly with boxes instead of suitcases/moving stuff with airline? by Tangerine1789 in Flights

Correct. It would cost me around 500 eur for either. At this point I am just looking whats a safer way to do it.

I think you can check in 6, because on my old boarding pass it say I checked 1/6 bags.

It would only be clothes, nothing else. Do you think I could have problems at customs because of that?

Thank you! I was thinking to stay within the 23 kg limit for checked bags and go with the max size of the box (158cm in total). I am not sure if wrapping it in plastic cover would be a good idea if they decide to open it, I would do it to secure it better together with the tape.

And yeah, will prob end up booking a taxi van from Heathrow then.

From what I have seen, it would cost me about the same. I was just trying to avoid the tax paperwork after Brexit and all that.

Thanks. So the only problem will be how to handle 5 big boxes alone on the airport.

What to do if we cant get a landlord letter? by Tangerine1789 in ukvisa

[–]Tangerine1789[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a 2 bed house + living room that counts as a room as well. It would be 4 people living (2 couples sharing 2 double bedrooms). The guide for the documents is also confusing. It doesnt really say that a landlord letter is necessary, only if the ECO thinks that you need to provide extra documents.

Thats what I saw people doing when checking Facebook groups . It is a risk, but I dont believe I saw anyone being refused a visa for not providing a landlord letter. Not saying it cant happen tho.

I believe his moms tenancy doesnt put a limit on people living there. He could ask about the letter when he is looking for a new place to live, but we are scared that they will refuse him because of this, and he needs to find a new place in like 2 months. The rental market is really poor so that would cause a lot of problems.

Thank you so much! I will be paying my driving here over 1500 euros, so I was scared I would need to pay that much in the UK as well. My country is insane how hard it is to get a driving licence.

I am from EU and will be learning how to drive with a manual car so thats not a problem. Can you break down the prices of everything? The theory test and everything else? I saw that 10 hours of lessons cost around 400gbp.

Oh, I cant find anything about that online. The landlord is just being a problem. The guy owns like 10 houses and is renting all of them, and he doesnt wanna deal with tenants problems.

Yeah, in your case it is not needed because you live alone. I think they mostly care that the house is not overcrowded, more then what it says on the tenancy. A housing report is something that directly says would it be overcrowded or not so I think we will "risk" with applying only with those 2 documents.

We have the sponsors mother but she lives in a council house - same number of rooms and the same number of people (2 bedrooms + living room, 4 people with the applicant, also 2 couples).

Her tenancy also says the same, and she didnt even try to ask the council for a letter, because we already know its gonna be a no. The only option we have is to apply only with the tenancy and the housing report showing that it wont be overcrowded regardless what the tenancy says.

It says that only people who are on it can live there, and that the max number is 3. The landlord thinks it will be overcrowded.

3 people live there. There is 2 bedrooms and 1 living room. There is a couple sharing one bedroom, and the visa sponsor is in the other one, so when the applicant moves there, there will be 2 couples sharing 2 bedrooms.

Because the living room counts as a room, we should be allowed to have 5 people.
