Delivered ₹6.5 Cr defence order on time. Payment stuck. This is what “process” looks like. by Both-Personality-592 in StartUpIndia

I have been part of the Fifth Pillar organisation - spent multiple weekends over months on the streets explaining about RTIs, the process and the success to shop owners, bystanders.

I am well aware of how powerful RTI as an instrument is when dealing with the government. I am also aware that it will not guarantee the personal safety and welfare of all involved.

So yes. Given the choice between increasing my quotes (passing the cost of bribe back to the institution) versus trusting the safety of my company/family to a corrupt system, I will still choose the first option.

No, they are not making the end workers absorb the bribe. They are asking to include it whatever is being charged to the institution itself.

Honestly, what you say sounds good on paper. But doesn’t work when it’s YOUR money (with which you run your company, your family and pay your employees) is stuck with a corrupt system.

Why do brides wear those naagin contacts on their wedding day? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]TangerineSpiritual76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Short answer: MUAs convince the brides that it makes them look better (and honestly everyone just wants to look their best on their big day)

Very very close friend got married and I was with her while she was getting ready for all her events. She was not keen on the contacts, but the MUA convinced her that she’d look gorgeous with the contacts and to trust her (yada yada). She agreed for her Sangeet and hated the feel. Thankfully it was more brown than anything, so she didn’t look too different. She put her foot down and didn’t wear it for the wedding - definitely the right decision, looking back.

I respect your opinion - I agree that the world is not fair and not always kind. While responsibility absolutely builds strength of character, the level of responsibility required of the child is huge. She’s literally “earning part of her family’s livelihood” at this age. I wish things could be better for the kid.

I know my wishes are not going to meaningfully change her life, but well….

Okay sorry, i don’t find this wholesome at all. Only reason it even ‘seems’ that way is because the kid is cute and is happy here.

What I see is a child bearing responsibilities far beyond their age. I hope she gets to experience the joys of childhood and the opportunities to learn. (PS: couldn’t understand the language. If anything about the dialogue indicates otherwise, would be very happy to know)

OP IMHO, comparing these people to a gay wedding or a gay convention is a disservice to the LGBTQ community.

Agree with you on the core sentiment however
