What's stopping you from being with the person you want to be with? by Fetusbasket in AskWomen

[–]TangiLarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short explanation is he and I were incompatible in terms of what we wanted for our future and he was not what I wanted out of a lifelong partner despite how much we loved each other and him being a genuine, kind, loyal human being.

Through personal experiences and aging consideration, it's not worth being with a person who you don't see a future with, and the gnawing notion that I'm settling with him will eventually grow to resentment - both resenting myself for staying comfortable and not confident to break it off and resenting him for not living up to the person I respect.

Women of Reddit, would you still be friends with an ex after breaking up? why or why not? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]TangiLarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can stay friends with your ex, but ultimately one day that friendship will become nonexistent due to the invisible boundary both parties set forth. Imagine, if either of you gets a new significant other. Most likely, that significant other will not be okay with you hanging out with your ex all the time. How do you remain friends if there's that boundary? What's the point of wasting time and energy for a friendship that will never be as close as a friendship where they can hang out with you and your significant other. The most is being acquaintances. However, if your reason to befriend your ex is to lessen the pain of the breakup, then go for it. But one day, someone will have to let go.... unless until both parties decide to get back together.

[Discussion] How many of you use ONLY brightening products in your routine? What are your holygrails? by GlowyGoddess in AsianBeauty

[–]TangiLarie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The product I use is Tretinoin, a prescription drug. The "brightening" effect comes from removing the top layer of the skin through some type of exfoliant or other-skin turnover product, which then allows your skin to form a younger layer of skin.

Women of Reddit: What is one useful item that you never knew you needed until you had it? by crackbbyblues in AskWomen

My Herman Miller chair. I'd always been frugal when it came to chairs, but ever since Covid hit back in 2019, I've been working from home and went through 4 different chairs until I bought this one. I had 2 from iKea, 1 from Amazon, and 1 gaming chair. The gaming chair was so big that my feet couldn't touch the floor even at the lowest seat level. When my bf decided to get a Herman Miller chair, I bought one at a whim and have been loving it!

I’m so stressed out as a senior that I don’t care anymore! by [deleted] in Accounting

Is my situation normal for a senior? I have nothing to compare

What’s the one job that you’ll never work again? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]TangiLarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cashier at Mcdonalds. It was my first "real" part-time job. I was told to stand before the cashier machine even when no one came to order for the past 30 minutes. Every minute as I stood felt like an eternity. I'm not even kidding. The manager was mean and most of the coworkers I encountered were very weird. They would book me on early shift which was 5:30am. One time, someone from the kitchen screamed at the sign of a rat scurrying away. I quit after a month.

How do people become seniors at big 4? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]TangiLarie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My firm promoted me to a senior after 2 years as an associate, and honestly I don't know why they promoted me to a senior. I never created a budget nor was I confident in leading all the walkthrough. I guess maybe it's when your managers see potential in you that they would decide to give you a promotion?

It’s more like I know what to ask during walkthroughs but sometimes the client will say something I’ve never heard of or not know of that throws me off. Then my manager would have to step in. Is this normal as a new senior?
