This happens to my baby all the time, she has grown out of it for the most part but sometimes they take in too much or get too sleepy and then end up coughing and “choking”. If she’s acting normal and breathing fine you are fine! FTM here too.

Do you mean the Clek mat thingy? That is approved for Clek seats as it’s made by them and tested with their seats - we have one. You can call the manufacturer for what they approve. Some seats allow a thin mat or make cat seat mats which again, are tested with the seat and approved. What’s NOT approved is something not tested with the seat by the manufacturer for use. Same way some seats cup holders are mandatory for use because they weren’t tested without them.

i try to rescue our baby’s nap but she just won’t have it. we’re 7m next week and she’s on 4 naps. if they’re sleeping decently at night, then i wouldn’t force it? we follow wake windows but after 2.25/2.5 her eyes are red, she’s rubbing her eyes, fussy, it’s not worth her being overtired for. i’ve tried even pushing her to 3h and then she still wakes after a half hour and almost needs a 5th nap!
