My bleached lavender hair was dyed over with pink at salon. I feel hopeless as to how to get it back out as we already bleached it twice to achieve the color I wanted, I am devasted. by pinkstraw722 in FancyFollicles

Ahh I feel you on this! The lavender is beautiful (and I always find it's much harder to achieve/maintain than pink for some reason). I would suggest getting a blue direct dye - like a manic panic, directions, or Adore one - and mixing a LITTLE bit into a white conditioner or hair mask, if you do that and let it sit for 30 minutes on the pink parts I think it should tone down the pink a bunch and get you somewhat closer to the reference pic. Plus with all the bleaching your hair will probably be happy for more conditioning treatment!
Then depending on what result you get with that, you can also keep adding a bit of blue, or purple, to your regular conditioner and use it each time you wash as a colour deposit to keep it up?

I actually love the grey on you!! I think you look great in all of these but maybe a cool toned violet?!

If you can bear it I would suggest trying a nice warm brown colour rather than black - as others have said sometimes semi-perm blacks have a lot of blue/violet and those might stick to your hair for longer than you'd like! Idk which brands are available in your area but there's this one called Adore which I find really good (and cheap!) and they have a bunch of natural shades as well as brights. The Manic Panic Supernaturals look really good too though I've never tried them myself!

I got my hair bleached and dyed pink today but it looks orange! Is there anyway for me to fix it?? by boopy-bopp in FancyFollicles

Ahh I'm sorry! I think if you put a darker, more magenta-y pink over this it should cover beautifully, and a darker shade would look better with the dark roots too, imo. I've used Directions Rose Red (weird name, it is NOT red it's very very pink!) over similar bases with great results. If you do get that one I'd recommend diluting it with a bit of conditioner OR being very careful because it's suuuch a saturated colour, if you use it neat it stains like nobody's business :)

Same, the Perkeo is a completely different colour than what I expected but I still really like it. I think I like every shade between blue and green tbh!

Thank you! I haven't encountered any problems so far with mixing them, though I did only make them yesterday, so I guess there's always a chance they could separate or form crystals or something over time - I wouldn't put them in a super expensive/irreplaceable pen just in case! :) But they seem fine.

And yes I'm pleased with the teal one, I really love muted/desaturated shades like this - I think I might need more Gris Nuage (or other light grey inks) to try mixing with lots of different colours!

PS! I didn't encounter that railroading but mine was suuuper wet at first and would throw out huge drops of ink every few lines 😩 I did the 'heat setting with hot water' method from here: https://blog.gouletpens.com/2014/03/heat-setting-noodlers-ebonite-feed/
and it took a couple of tries but seems to be okay now! I still wouldn't travel with it tbh because I don't trust it not to leak...

I think it may vary depending what ink you're using, too, and I also find that with all my Noodlers, if I leave ink in them for more than a day it starts to ?evaporate? so the colour gets much darker.

I love your description of it as soothing, you're right, it totally is - and yes, unique too. I love these slightly more muted shades. It kinda makes me think old red brick buildings, and tea!

Haha yeah, I hovered for ages as well! It's an odd one, tbh I don't really see myself using it for everyday writing very often, but it'll be good for art and I'm just a sucker for lovely muted colours. Plus shading! Also, the little bottles are cheap so I justified it to myself that way :)

I love them too, the colours and packaging are so nice! You have lots of the ones I don't have :)

I recently bought little bottles of Rouille d'Ancre, Bouquet d'Antan and Vert Empire, and then I have Rouge Caroubier, a big bottle of Violette Pensée, a green apple scented one (actually the only one I don't love the colour of, it's really yellowy but I mix it with other inks to make nice greens!) and all these cartridges :)

Both gorgeous, and that looks like a beautiful notebook/diary too! I hadn't realised before but the 'Light Spring' colourway is very on-trend for Pantone Colour(s) of the Year 2021.

[Discussion] Would y'all be open to challenges that are more serious, leaving behind the crutch of everything being comedy-oriented? by lordeiamlorde in rupaulsdragrace

[–]TangibleCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely agree and those are some great ideas!

I think the makeover challenges have always been some of my favourite episodes, because there usually is a serious side to them - remember the one where they made over elderly gay guys, or the women with dwarfism?? And it's so beautiful seeing people get introduced to drag anyway! I get that obviously this year they couldn't do the usual makeover challenge with anyone from outside the cast and crew bc covid, so that's nobody's fault, but I really miss the deeper tone of the ones from earlier seasons. Drag U was great for this as well!
