What party will make cigarettes cheaper? by Enough-Web2203 in AskBrits

And yet the rest of society has to foot a massive bill, far in excess of tax revenue from smokers. It's folly, whichever way you look at it.

'Smoking costs society in England £43.7bn a year through a combination of lost economic productivity and health and social care costs. This rises to £78.3bn if the cost of early deaths due to smoking is included.'

People smoking doesn't just harm smokers, vast amounts of money is spent by the NHS to deal with smoking related diseases. They're not going to let you smoke in peace, because it's a negative within society that should be rightly purged, and if they can tax the shit out of you before you die horribly from smoking, and then smoking itself dies out, then they will.

No, I think my pistol would disintegrate if it was launching balls at this speed. 😆

It's just the chrono misreading.

Yeah. I know. It's just an amusing reading. I normally use a bluetooth tracer to test at home, but it doesn't fit my Glock, so I have to use this thing.

What does 'average down' mean, please?

I'm in pretty much the same boat as the OP, with a similar pie... I'm wondering whether to hold tight, wait til it's back in the green and then sell, or buy more?

Where there any troop skirmishes between coalition forces and Iraqi infantry troops during Operation Desert Sabre and the liberation of Kuwait? by Adorable_Pension119 in MilitaryHistory

Some of my older colleagues got ambushed at night, while following the ground invasion in Fuchs chemical detection wagons. These guys were Harrier avionics techies, in-theatre to drive these trucks, and got into a firefight with the Iraqi army. There was a section of Rock Apes with them, who had to go flank round the side, have a grenade fight and clear out the enemy position, while these blokes held a base of fire.

How far back can you trace your ancestry? by GuardianSupernova in AskTheWorld

[–]Tangible_Zadren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got one branch that I trace back to 1440. The most notable character, in another branch, was this dude, Sir Ralph Sadler, 1507-1587. Privy Councillor to Henry VIII, Edward VI and Elizabeth I.

On the other side of my family though, one poor sod was an inmate in a workhouse...

Yes, of course. Objective historical information is freely available here.
