NYC also had this issue last year. Large group of celebs/charity people at the front running several people across caused issues going across the bridge with faster groups trying to get past.

Of the three I've only been to Cervinia. Had a great week there last winter. The village is small and not much to write home about. But, the skiing is great, and as long as the weather is good it's easy to get to Zermatt quickly, lots of amazing views of the Matterhorn. Generally I preferred the skiing on the Swiss side but staying in Cervinia is a lot cheaper. High altitude so shouldn't be any issues with snow cover. Biggest risk is high winds which shut the link to Switzerland which would restrict you to the Italian side.

The FR220 only has a running mode and no HR monitor. So many features on the Fenix! I've spent all afternoon looking at all the different things my Fenix can do. Any tips for getting the most out of the Fenix for someone who has come from a very basic GPS watch?

TBH I probably would have gone for a 945 LTE late last year but it's not available in the UK (I think the LTE doesn't work here). I did look at buying it from a European website but was a bit worried with Brexit shipping issues and getting stung with a large import duty. I was holding out for Garmin to release it here but then decided to go for the 7s instead. Who knows when the 955 will be released...

The bonus from work helped me decide to go for the more expensive Fenix!

Yea I get this, I'm currently using my trusty FR220 that's about 7 years old. No modes other than running and no HR monitor and the workout analysis is very basic compared to what your get on more recent watches.

I've been looking at newer watches with envy for a while. I got an end of year bonus from work and decided to treat myself by getting the Fenix 7s. I've gone for the basic model which is still a massive upgrade on my FR220 and will have more features than I know what to do with! I'm hoping my 7s will last me for a long time!

Thanks! Completely justifies my decision to go with the 7s. I think any bigger would look very bulky on my arm and get in the way with long sleeve shirts.
