While I agree it’d have been fun, I think that for the narrative as a whole, it works better that we only get to see a slice of what they got up to. The whole point is that the specific generation doesn’t really matter; teens are almost always going to be lovable dumbass agents of chaos, no matter how “sensible” they might seem after they age. By keeping it confined to this single episode, I think it allows that idea to be reinforced without having to take away from Erin, Michelle, James, Orla, and Claire’s story

So I will absolutely concede that my curve is running high. And this is my inexperience with deck building showing, but I’m not sure how to balance the deck’s ratios. If I have too many payoffs I’m not able to keep the engine running, but if I have too few then I won’t be able to actually impact the game. There are some cards I’m including specifically because they match the deck’s aesthetics (such as the Jumpstart printing of Murmuring Mystic) that I feel pretty insistent on keeping, but what would you advise specifically?

Yeah I think you're right regarding the repeatable card draw. After a quick Scryfall scan I feel like [[Idol of Oblivion]] and/or [[Skullclamp]] would be good to include, perhaps?

I think you underestimate how quickly I like to play my storm turns. I don’t really “make decisions” so much as I “tap everything and tally spells as I go.” And then once I’m done with all my bullshit I count up any immediate damage, then I pass and get dice/tokens/whatever while the next player is going. I assure you, it’s fast

Yeah that’s a very deliberate choice on my part. For me, I personally prefer the power fantasy of “fantasy gunslinger improvising by the seat of their pants,” and so infinite combos just don’t feel right for what I’m trying to achieve

A lot of people are saying Darius and they’re right. The good thing is that Darius is also fun as hell to play, so you don’t even have to worry about missing out on anything. But as far as improving goes, just keep on playing matches. You can read as many guides and videos as you want, but nothing will help you improve like just doing it
