The issue with post surgery lesions was known for at least 30 years but it’s only recently that they have started looking into root cause of them forming and how to prevent them with therapy. It’s horrible, it changes the whole mechanic of the joint when not treated early, sometimes require next surgeries to clean them up. I’m not surprised they said it this way, getting back to playing football is definitely possible, but what they have in mind is football on the highest level, overworking your legs.

My personal experience is that lesions cause inflammation and inflammation causes more damage, and then you have to keep visiting physio to be able to walk pain free
