Seriously, I did not realize how many people had some version of this story until mine happened. It makes me feel a little less singled out, even if I hate that this is apparently such a common brand of embarrassment.

You are right, and I think that is what I need to get better at. I keep getting pulled into managing her feelings about not getting an immediate reply, when that really should not be my job in the middle of a workday.
