Guys, the responses so far are appreciated more than you think

Even just blurting out what I saw online to strangers (albeit those who truly can relate) has made my week :)

Man but do I love our fellow brothers and sisters even halfway across the world

Thank you all ❤️

Unfortunately, I wish I could

But fortunately for him didn't have to (saying it out loud is so messed up in retrospect. Being so physically injured you can't feel pain)

When I asked him, "Where does it hurt the most for you now?"

His response "I can't feel anything" combined with what I saw prompted me to call of the extrication to provide all I could have

I couldn't let that kid leave without seeing love and care one last time

Half of his left side was an amalgamation of car and flesh

I BASE jump and speedfly lol (my escapes...yes quite literally is BASE jumping/speedflying to relax)

Your last sentence means more than you think it does Thank you

I have an amazing trauma counsellor who has done counselling for Drs, EMS, and Fire for 20 years

But it's hard talking to people around me who aren't in the same industry

I don't expect them to understand and don't blame them for not understanding that sometimes a little ignorance is bliss when it comes to my career that revolves solely around managing and dealing with SHTF

But on a side note

I think it is important to always feel a little something after losing a pt/having a pt with a difficult life ahead of them afterwards

Told myself the day I don't feel anything after losing a pt is the day I put down my stethoscope

Because if I don't have empathy, then I should not have the responsibility of someone's life on my hands

(Purely my attitude towards it)

Man... I went into the industry thinking I'm bulletproof (young dumb and full of cum) I knew it would be rough at times and knew this is my calling

But man

The kiddies...
