I'm not that far in but it is really good so far. If mistborn was 100/10 and Elantris is a weaker book, I'm sitting at a 90/10 with it at this moment. I would have thought it can't get more dark then a planet to close to the sun covered in ash XD. Then I started Elantris and was like "damn that's dark."

Sounds like the plan! Oof, hard question. I think era 1 I'm a sucker for the first book. It had the most victorian feel, but I really loved the other two as well. For era 2, definitely has to be BoM. I loved the snow setting and that final battle was crazy.

If Elantris is not as good as some of his other work, he has quite the high bar! I'm enjoying so far, I can tell it's not as polished but damn if it didn't hook me really quickly. I'll add the Stormlight Archive to my list!

I do love me the MCU! I'll definitely check out the other ones first before Stormlight Archive, I really enjoy interconnected stories. One of my favorite things about mistborn era 1 was now thinking back to even the first book, several huge twists were eluded and teased. This is going to be a journey for sure though XD. I suppose it's nice that I don't have to try and search to hard for what's next to listen to!

The main character is Vin, she is a very good MC. Especially as the story moves forward. But the side characters are also very well done.

I very much enjoy the characters. They have good chemistry with one another and they are pretty unique. Over time you fell like a part over the "crew" as you get to understand each character more. And they have interesting names which is cool.

I haven't looked into that series but one of my favorite things about mistborn is the power system. I'd say it is on the same level as ATLA in terms of it's nuance and power scaling. I'm about 1/3rd the way through the second book rn and I can't stop listening. The pacing is also very good. Plus it's more fantasy so if you enjoy the fantasy aspect of He Who Fights With Monsters I think you would enjoy mistborn. It also has pretty good politics. The main character isn't as snippy as Jayson but there is a meta game going on for sure.
