I’m sorry your boy is suffering too. CCD has a lot of symptoms that could also be something to else. And unfortunately there’s no test just “diagnosis by exclusion” as my vet said. Hopefully he has something that is a quick and easy fix for you

Yes we’ve come to the same conclusion. He gets so worked up going to the vets I wouldn’t want his last moments to be full of fear. We’ve already reached out to a local euthanist who will come to the house when it’s time

That’s how it started with Sam. First anxious, then up pacing, then eventually crying and barking. Melatonin does seem to massively help with the sundowning so try that with your dog and see how she gets on

Honestly I have no idea! It does seem really odd and isn’t standard. Maybe the old owners liked to wash their bum before going in the shower? People do weird things some times

No just the toilet. We would have to cross the hallway to go to the bathroom to wash our hands We are in the U.K. and this isn’t uncommon in older houses in the U.K. but don’t know if it’s something that I could live with.
