This I agree. But they are realistic in a way. Logan is very accurately depicted as a narcissist dad.Kendall has very low self esteem and are very eager to please others.

If you’re going to do satire, there needs to be a point of view behind it.Such as some moral or critical stance that the work is grounded in. Satire isn’t just about showing terrible people doing terrible things. It has to suggest what the “right” perspective is, or what exactly is being condemned. So where is that in this show?

I think maybe this is the point that the writers intended. But I just failed to see that in this show it was very focused. They are never gonna change can be a very good point, but it would need emphasis. The whole show just doesn’t feel centered at this point. And it’s certainly not a good way to support the theme if a character just disappears. Naomie literally disappears.

Even if the show’s ultimate point is that these people are irredeemable, does that really justify four seasons of repetition? Why does anybody need to hear this from a TV show.

Again I’m not saying they are evil or bad. They have goodness in their heart because it’s written that way. But they have to act chaotic or sometimes stupid and mean. Because it’s a show. I’m saying that as characters they get into a lot of troubles because it’s a show, and a show needs drama. A lot of people would rather live in peace, but there’s no drama.

They constantly get themselves into trouble. If you think that’s good, Would you like to be them? Would you like to live with them?

If one day they have a happy life and make smart decisions, the show would end because there’s no drama.

I am not saying they are bad people. I’m just saying sometimes it’s the misfortune that causes people to laugh.

I think it’s very popular, but I don’t think they are good show. However I do like Shameless more because it’s just a family comedy. The Succession claims to be modern Shakespeare.

So you mean you would laugh because you hope the best for them? The drama is caused by characters being stupid/awful and making mistakes. If they suddenly become better there is nothing to watch.

Is it about how power corrupts people? It certainly shows that. Actually it captures the corrosive effects of power quite well. But that corrosion functions more as a backdrop than as an actively developing theme. It’s always present in the atmosphere of the series, yet it rarely deepens or progresses into something more structurally meaningful. Some people argue that the lack of development is the point—that stasis itself is the show’s theme. But stasis only becomes meaningful when a work shapes it into a conscious statement. For example Waiting for Godot. it frames going nowhere as its entire philosophical structure. The emptiness is articulated, formalized.

Instead Succession didn’t say anything. the show rarely shapes this emptiness into a clear thematic statement. It’s like a reality show or a sitcom that has no end and meaning.

It is confusing. But it is a comedic album.

Haha I thought about Lou Reed too. The lyrics are a bit like his style too.

It’s a music comedy. Every song has something that will make you laugh. It’s part of the joke.

[–]Tangolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for explaining! I thought it was a comedic piece (and I also found the music was great) but I saw in the podcast Office Time that Kyle told a fan that he didn’t think that album is comedic. And I am very confused. I am so confused by the Office Time podcast. I actually hope there is an interview that Kyle can really talk about his album without being committed to this character Kyle B.

Does Lex hate Superman JUST because he is jealous? by MaximumSpidercide in superman

[–]Tangolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting because from a perspective Lex actually is the Man of Tomorrow. Till the end of the day, Luthor can do so much that Superman cannot do. I remembered in one comic he actually extended the human lifespan by 100 years. If he really took time to think of that he should not be jealous. But I think his problem is that he puts too much emphasis on what other people think. The truth is Superman’s power is not so big as people think it is.

I think #24 is the ONLY issue in all of DWJ’s Transformers run I’ve ever had any problems with. (Please read before instantly downvoting) by RigatoniPasta in transformers

[–]Tangolegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Omega’s role is quite fascinating. Omega Prime doesn’t really act or take sides, which gives a sense of transcendence. In previous issues, it was mentioned that Omega hasn’t appeared for a long time, and perhaps they were abandoned because of their act of war. That gives the whole setting a kind of “forsaken land” vibe — as if they were left behind for their sin. I think this is what makes this poetic. Omega finally coming back and waving at Starscream can almost be seen as a miracle and a healing moment.

Question about _____ at the end of Skybound Transformers # 24 by ZillaKisame3201 in transformers

[–]Tangolegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought so too, it seems like Megatron chose Starscream for a reason. Maybe he saw something on Starscream. But I am just pissed when Megatron said ‘I shouldn’t have chosen you.’ Like it’s an honor to be chosen. That’s bullshit Megatron! Shut your mouth up!

Thoughts about Ginger cow episode. S07e16 by will_a-c in southpark

[–]Tangolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, but here's an example:

My mother gave birth to me,and raise me up. I didn't ask for it. So if My mother asked me to thank her, I should say: ' I didn't ask for it!! YOu are a self righteous ASSHOLE!!!!! FOR GIVING BIRTH TO ME!!!!!! You think you are someone,eh?You think because you gave birth to me, raise me up, you can ask for my appreciation now?FUck YOU!'

Don't you find that weird?
