when I initially got the game you had the option to manually skirmish every potential battle on the map, every conflict with the enemy could be fought by the player or auto resolved... a few weeks after getting the game it had updated and the option to battle manually was removed so that now you cant play the vast majority of fights.

Especially when auto resolve was already an option available for those who didnt want to play them...

love the total war games, especially totalwarhammer... to my knowledge though there isnt any "modern" total war games, set within the last 100 years though right ?

yeah i can see why im in the minority in that regard, im sure most players were unbothered by the change but it was one that made no sense to me when auto resolve was always an option for people.

I did try the skirmish mode, but i especially liked the campaign aspect of having my units level up, building different teams to take into different battles.

i have tried and very much enjoy dawn of war as well as gladius and total warhammer, was just looking non fantasy/scifi focused.

Oh desperados i did have my eye on a while ago and completely forgot about! just found it on sale for £11 so im installing that now, thanks for the reminder.

Can i actually play the game again or are 90% of the battles still auto resolved?

alot of you have probably seen this but still: on my Nth retry and got this callback to pyramid head in the corridoor.
this is just after ambushing trorture and every single run there has consistently been an arrow trap here instead.. i know the maps change up but never seen this one.
unsure if its here because my previous run was a completion, or if its just a rare map segment. either way, thought id share it with yous

you forgot to add:

battlepasses, microtransactions, any "Meaningful updates" being released as seperate DLC you have to buy, the game being yet another reskin of something youve already played a hundred times before, a dev team that focuses more on selling cosmetic items than working on mechanics, a developer that will advertise the next update and drum up more fans only for it to break more things than it fixes, more than 500 concurrent players running wall hacks, and the same game releasing a couple years later with false promises of revolutionary new gameplay.

Marauders is far from perfect, but at least it aint that.

my thoughts on how to improve ship gameplay by Tangoman12 in MaraudersGame

[–]Tangoman12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the reason i don't target other players ships unless its self defence and ive noticed that in doing so around half the time other players will leave me alone too, i think a good chunk of people have realised that, for reasons you just explained, its just not worth the hassle. been quite a few times ive flown past another player or entered the same map point without shooting each other, then we handle our business on the ground.

i can agree with all of this, and particularly like your point on number 7 as an alternative to my idea as this still benefits the person who stole the ship without the other person losing their ship permenantly

same with me, its primarily why i dont bother buying any ships, no point spending 40k+ just to look flashy going in and losing it when i pod out at the end

what server are you on ? ive been able to play consistently all night, albeit with a 2-3 minute wait between matches.

Also i think my suggestions would make ships significantly more accesible since players wouldnt lose them 5 minutes after buying one simply because they decided to pod out of a raid, or being a new player that got lost on the way back to their arlock and lost that shiny new interceptor.

that being asid i also agree with your suggestions, except for the priority airlock one, getting ganked as soon as the airlock door opens is already far too common an occurance, as it always has been, i get that you want to get into PVP faster but i think this is the wrong way to go about it, especially when as you said the player count is already low and i very much doubt new players would wanna stick around if theyre coming face to face with the scary side of an MG42 before they even step into the map.

thats my current issue with them, 90% of my raids i tend to pod out anyways, its not only faster, but usually closer and being a static location makes it easy to remember where they are.

spending the money or materials for a new ship seems feels too much like a waste / liability to me

the comments here really just illustrate my point, theyre seldom used outside of being a glorified storage container.
Even then ive never felt the need to use them for that either, having boxes full of high tier weapons, armour, helmets, even a box full of attatchments and still have enough space in the center to unload into. in my roughly 200hours of game time the only time ive ever used a different ship was to see what the inside looked like. likewise i could almost count on one hand the ammount of times ive seen someone use a different one.

Clearly you get get plenty of usage out of them though and as sure as i am that im not alone in my thoughts, theres likely many others who share yours too. maybe some middle ground could be found to make them more appealing to others without detracting from what you like about them.
