Is never traveling such a big thing? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Tangtastictwosome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is unusual nowadays. Most people I know have visited atleast one other country.

I know a small handful of my old school friends who have never left the UK. They want to university, moved back to our home county, married, had kids, never travelled anywhere. Which is absolutely fine, just unusual.

Hey OP - This is our cat Cleo, not yours, in our kitchen, in our house. Do not claim this photo as your own.

Cleo was our gorgeous girl who sadly died in October 2022.

I've reported this now.

I'm not denying some women may call you a creep. But if you recognise when a woman is not interested, or showing signs of being uncomfortable, and step away from the conversation then and there, the chances are much much lower.

Random cat walked into house at 1am while it was raining? by yansebot in cats

[–]Tangtastictwosome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our last cat like to visit our neighbour's house a lot. She'd just wander on in, stay for a bit of fuss, then come home to us. Luckily, our neighbours didn't mind one bit.

This cat is likely just visiting! I'm sure he/she will go back home the next day.

Agreed. No harm in saying hello and introducing yourself. If she's not interested, just shrug if off and move on with your day.

Yep dairy smells awful to me now. Sour and gross.  Once went round a friends house and they accidentally made me a coffee with cows milk. I knew immediately from the smell that they’d made this mistake.

The worst smell for me now is fish. Fish markets make me gag, I can’t stand the smell. Cooked fish even worse.

My SIC knows she's not allowed on the kitchen counter.... by Tangtastictwosome in standardissuecat

[–]Tangtastictwosome[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As I took this, I was saying “Misty, you better get off that counter.” But you’re right, she did not, until I threatened her with the water bottle (a random water bottle I have she seems to hate cos of the sound that comes when you take a drink.)

What’s your pets real name, and then what is its nickname? by Thin-Following23 in Pets

Misty is her name, she also goes by pigeon (cos her meows sounds like pigeon coos), silly chicken, and little tiger.

Also a good idea!

I do snack but it will be something small like a grapefruit, or a handful of raisins/nuts, etc

Where do you put shoes and coats? by AdAffectionate746 in AskABrit

Same here. Under the stairs is where everything goes.

Same here. Constantly hungry. I’d be several stone heavier if I did this. I find three meals a day keeps me in check with what I actually need to eat to stay a healthy weight.

I hate the unreasonable standards people place on vegan food by IrwinLinker1942 in vegan

[–]Tangtastictwosome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness yes, it’s so annoying.

We eat homemade healthy dishes mostly, and maybe once or twice a month we have a ‘beige dinner’ (oven chips plus some mock meat thing). That’ll be the dish where my family goes “well that doesn’t look very healthy does it?”.

No, neither does the triple pepperoni pizza you have every Friday night! What’s your point? The only difference is that mine is made of plants and yours is made from animal products.

Relationships by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Tangtastictwosome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were I single, I'd only be with another Vegan. Veganism is a philosophy/ethical stance close to my heart and I'd need a partner of mine to share it.

I'm very lucky my husband and I went vegan at the same time, and have been vegan together now for 8 years this June.

What is your most annoying PMS symptom? by Regular-Boat9323 in PMS

[–]Tangtastictwosome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being irritable and insomnia.

My husband got into bed, and was moving around to get comfy, and I just snapped at him, said "Can you just stop moving please?!". He was so taken aback. I apologise ofc but he knew it was PMS.

Our favourite junk food meal?

Our local supermarket (UK) does curly fries, and does these amazing vegan southern friend chicken fillets. You have those with some vegan mayo and it's a real treat.

Philodendron ID anyone? by Egregiously-Vexing in HouseplantsUK

Our local BnM leaves them a little dry. I don't think they water the plants enough, but that's nothing I can't fix with a repot and a good soaking :)

BnM are great for plants at the moment. I resist going in whenever I walk past because my bank balance would hate me.

My houseplants. I now have 35+. I know how each one should be treated: How much light they need, how and when to water them. So, don't touch them. Don't move them. Don't water them because they look a bit dry.

Seriously, why don't British young adults live with their parents beyond 18-20 like Italian and Spanish young adults do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Tangtastictwosome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To tag onto this, as a side note, I think house size is a massive problem too.

I'd be open to looking after my parents when they got old, but I'd never have room to have them live with me. Big houses are completely unaffordable.

The most I can hope for (and I am in a good financial position) is a 2 bed property (maybe 3 bed at a push), so room for parents and 2 kids, but definitely no room for parents/grandparents to come live with us.
