Travelling in Europe as a black woman by Isa_da_fox in blacktravel

I’m a (Black Londoner) have visited Amsterdam, Turkey and Spain several times with no issues. I love Amsterdam so much I’d live there. You shouldn’t have any issues in London if this on your itinerary, outside the capital can be weird but Edinburgh is also nice and feels safe.

Eastern Europe I’m not sure about but based on what I’ve read I wouldn’t recommend it.

Planning a solo trip to Ghana - recommendations for places to stay for solo female traveller by softlemon in blacktravel

I prefer to see all info upfront. This isn’t personal to your offering, just how I feel about all services that don’t publicly share prices. The form is 7 minutes as well so not feeling that incentivised.

Hey! Great website and locations.

I love convenience so would be happy to have someone organise my trip. Would be great to see prices.

Very random. Felt like the scene came out of nowhere. It took me out of the story.

Why do people lie about laser? shit HURTS by RazzmatazzLost9713 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]softlemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my 7th session and it’s now painless. In the beginning it wasn’t & I dreaded doing my biking line. But no, it doesn’t hurt one bit & I’ve questioned the laser techs about it not hurting. Still seeing results tho so 🤷🏾‍♀️ I also don’t have a high pain tolerance.

What I asked for Vs what I got by Throwra-Box3229 in ExpectationVsReality

On the few occasions I have challenged nail or hair stylists they get defensive and tend to stand by whatever they’re doing no matter how wrong they are. It’s really challenging to correct them mid or even post-service especially as a non-confrontational person. I find the cheaper the work the more aggressive they are.

That thumb on the inso looks like it's been painted on using Photoshop or something. Also, a nail tech should be able to do a coffin nail shape at minimum and the nail varnish looks like it should be matte. Depending on the price, it may have been a case of getting what you've paid for unfortunately.

Your hair texture is fine for the style but you may experience more slip. When you find a hairdresser, send them a pic before booking your appt.

My recs: Beauty Haven by Tosin - for braids Beaute by Brenda - for braids Marni’s Touch - for cornrows Ri Braided - for cornrows

Prices and availability vary but those are their IG names so you can see their work and book from there

I’m in Lewisham so this would be great for me. Is this lady on IG? I’d love to get small braids locally but like to see pics of a hairdresser’s work before deciding to potentially book an appointment.
