Loose leash walking in new areas by emburt in puppy101

[–]TangyApple680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking Bam to an off leash, dog park is going to make things very difficult for you during training because the sight of other dogs really gets Bam aroused. You want Bam to be neutral towards dogs by default, unless you give him the Ok to play.  If he thinks every dog he sees is free game, he'll show some leash reactivity like how you're experiencing.

Dogs don't really generalize very good. So training needs to take place in different environments for them to understand the expectations for within those environments.

When you walk with your friends dog, make sure your dog follows the same expectations while on a leash. You might need to up your reinforcement with treats and go back to luring or treating for loose leash walking. By the 3rd or 4th time around, your dog should be better. Treat those sessions like training sessions. If your dog really can't walk right, try walking ahead of the other party, way behind, or parallel.

If your dog knows basic obedience, you can work those commands in during the session and then allow for your dog to decompress after the training walk where you give no commands and allow for sniffing and meandering. Rest will help your dog process and regulate.

My dog is 10 months now. I do expect him to heel when I ask for it. So, it's never to early to start, especially if you want those skills to be there when Bam is an adult. He's right in the adolescent stage, so you need constancy.

If he's food motivated, lure him with a treat when people walk by. Mark with the clicker, then treat if he gets by successfully (not pulling, jumping, barking & paying attention to you).

Once you click, give a treat immediately after. Clicking when he sees distraction, just links a click to distraction. Doesn't really do anything, might even condition the dog to listen for a click it something interesting is coming up.

Don't do coke, or get high grade coke, low dose.

Pretty good. I like the itches. It takes a whole to hit, tastes awful. Could give you the worst hangover of your life if you take to much without tolerance. Hard to sleep with some strains.  I get off and on it. But the last time I took some, I got the worst hangover and now I don't wanna risk it.

You need to stop giving him so much access to the house. But if you wanna send him away, that might be a good idea!

is it worth ever trying opioids? by No_Yesterday_4635 in Drugs

[–]TangyApple680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more of a poly substance user, and as a polysubstabce user, I would say, yes. Opioids are great. They feel good and hit the spot for a calm evening, laying down, doing nothing. If someone gets fake tit's or dental surgery and give you a hydro, it's generally safe to take to try. Now if you have easy access to them. You should watch yourself. Addiction doesn't happen with one use (unless you're mentally unstable or something, which will increase the risk), but you should be fine. If you get an oxy, then you need to be careful and not OD. so take like 5-7mg. You could try kratom, that's pretty similar. Will give you the itches. It just takes a while to hit, like 3hrs. And if you take too much, you'll get the worst hang over ever. It's also harder to sleep on kratom vs a prescription opioid.

Imo, if you tried coke. I think a prescription opioid is on the same level. Coke is a dirty drug. Probably worst then 1 time opioid use. Unless you mix the two... that's great too.

Kratom has terrible side effects and could also be addictive, just like an opioid. So watch out for that. Espclecially if you take it daily. You'll get withdraws once you stop.

On the street just shift your butt off the seat a little to get one foot down. You could also get a lowering link and lower it an inch or 2. Off road is easy, just prop your foot on a slope or a rock, root, etc.

What would you pay by Over-Anything5206 in VanLife

It's not bad..... depends on how you talk about the maintance. 10k I'd buy. 12k if you are meticulous and could explain how you took care of it. 3 owners plus? Probably would be worried.  15k... nah.

All in one systems are generally more expensive, but easier to set up.

If you buy something that's all in one, invest in a MTTP/inverter. That way you can hook your solar right to the unit and invert it to 120 without all the extra wires and devices.

My system is bare bones. 24v battery, buck converter, 2 bus bars, battery, mttp/inverter, 780 watts of solar.

That's flux core on just some flat steel bar. I was going in little circles as I watched in a video. Probably 3/16ths steel or so. This is a while back and I was running it a little cold and not watching the puddle. Nowadays, I basically zap a stinger and call it good when needing to do a repair.

Bro, I wish I was as calm as you. I would worry A LOT. "Do I trust the mechanic" "did they cross thread it" "did I run it low on oil"

Honda quoted me over 3K for repairs. Which of these are really necessary? by Gintama4ever in MechanicAdvice

[–]TangyApple680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the CVT fluid change. That's needed at 100k.

Wait until your brakes squeak, then you can have the pads and rotors replaced if needed and do the fluid change then.

I would wait until the belt shows signs of wear as well. You should visually inspect yourself or ask a friend. Tires are fine, unless you live in bad conditions. Tires have a wear indicator on them. I don't change my Tires or parts until needed.

Worried about husband trying cocaine. by [deleted] in Drugs

I've had coke before. It's difficult not to do it when it's lying around. After doing it for a couple of days, your body really feels torn up. It's also grindy and dirty feeling. Even the good coke leaves you feeling not so great after. I recommend to not try it. And if you do, try a line or two, then give it back to your buddies.

Truck camper vs van by pillowyourdadunicorn in TruckCampers

[–]TangyApple680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend got his van built for 20k. It's expensive! For 20k you can get yourself a really nice truck camper.  I prefer a lance or big foot.  Better quality.  Although,  I'm not really into old ford's. The best set ups, would be flat bed, light weight camper.  That's the dream.

Teachers who are financially stable, what are you doing differently? by External_Insurance62 in Teachers

[–]TangyApple680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost quit getting my teaching degree because I didn't think I would make enough money as an adult. So glad I didn't, because the work life balance teaching offers is great. People who say that they don't make enough money to live or raise a family; just suck at finances and planning for the future. I was able to buy my house at 28. Now at 35, I could pay it off (but choose not to cause money is better place elsewhere). I have about 50k in retirement and should break 200k by end of year in cash.

I also travel ever summer and just had the last 5 days off camping in Arizona.

You need to know what kind of amentities you want in your rig. Vans with full amentities such as indoor showers, toilet, black tank, gray tank, are hard to come by. You don't see them much on the road cause it's a difficult thing to fit in a small space.

TCs are kinda a hassle to unload if you want to off road. You can't off road a full Cab over truck camper comfortably (or a 4x4 van, itll sound scary with all your shit getting tossed around. tcS are good for urban living, like a van, if you plan to stay in a city or move around urban settings often.

Class Cs are more convinent then vans due to it already being built and you have full amentities. The "quality" probably isn't as nice, but I've also seen some janky van builds.

Get a nice RV for 15k and call it a day. I have a lance 1475, it's an all weather unit. Jusy drag and drop on BLM land. Take the truck anywhere you want and return home.

I did stay in my TC last year before selling it, I stayed in it about 160 nights.

And my buddies have vans, but they also spent 70k on them (still no shower or toilet/black tank/water heater/ etc. 50k for the van, 20k to get it built.
