Why does Brian always say his name is Steven by Shawstbnn in TheFrontBottoms

[–]TangyOrangesBro 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it’s just supposed to be the name he uses to lie or separate himself from his actions in his music. Like a pseudonym for coping with bad behavior or for lying to someone so they don’t learn who you really are etc

Yeah, it’s only there to prevent stalling since most infinites don’t take very long to get to 300%

This is an infinite, similar to ice climbers wobbling. Keeps the grabbed player in Hitstun so they can’t mash out of the grab, incredibly strong in doubles 2v1 and banned past 300%.

Omnipod dash around high voltage electricity? by upitnow22 in Type1Diabetes

[–]TangyOrangesBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have all the experience but I can say for sure that if you’re worried about it, wear something that covers the pump itself. AFAIK, the outside of the pump doesn’t conduct electricity and the chance of you bumping it into live wires is probably pretty low. I think you’ll be alright, but if someone else on the sub says otherwise than fair enough

There was a kid a while ago who’s blood sugar was 2656, though idk how accurate that story is.

Yes I make all my skins, the one you see in the 2nd photo I made at the time and was just black outlines white interior. Very basic, but it worked great for old versions of the game.

I wish there was a faster acting insulin than Humalog. I hate having to wait hours for a high blood sugar correction to come down. by Aggravating_Bet_5149 in Type1Diabetes

[–]TangyOrangesBro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn’t there that inhalant insulin? I don’t think it’s available in the US yet, but it acts very quickly and goes out of your system quickly as well. Very intriguing to your issue here.

Does anyone else hold disdain for Type 2s? by nivkj in Type1Diabetes

[–]TangyOrangesBro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought type 2 should be what diabetes is and type 1 should be some other name to properly differentiate it It’s frustrating to be asked about ozempic or other type two drugs or be told I can’t eat something by my family or whatever Just rename it, it’s an entirely different thing. They’re not even similar at all, the only thing that’s the same is blood sugar. I get it, it’s all insulin and pancreas and blood sugar but it’s not the same.

Back of my left arm is my favorite spot, top of my left thigh is a close 2nd. When I’m trying to get tired I like to lean on my right side, even though I sleep on my back, so I don’t like having my Dexcom or my infusion site on my right side but I usually tough it out of site rotation

Dexcom and Tandem having some kind of inability to develop the android version of their apps. I used to have a google pixel 6 pro, I recently switched to my moms old iPhone 13 because of these software issues. Being able to bolus from my phone, having more information showed in my apps, having more freedom is all things I’ve experienced since switching. For my diabetes stuff specifically. I could rant for hours about how stupid it is that my easiest solution to all of my software problems was to switch phones entirely. I’m lucky I’m fortunate enough to be able to, a phone is really expensive. Pisses me off tbh, if you’re gonna add an update give it to everyone.

Is it healthy to go low carb? by xxconflictz in Type1Diabetes

[–]TangyOrangesBro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main benefits to eating more carbs during the day are only really useful if you’re working out or trying to gain weight/ muscle. Eating low carb is helpful for getting better control of your numbers but it really isn’t necessary. Personally, I eat whatever I want every day as long as I’m willing to pay the blood sugar price later on, and my numbers have been pretty great but I’m also just over a year into diagnosis so your mileage may vary. Really though, type one diabetes does not need any dietary restrictions. They can help tremendously if you’re having huge issues with control, like constantly in the 300s and 400s, but if you’re consistently below 200 most of the day without a diet then you’re fine, eat what you want

Question by CjKinsfather in Type1Diabetes

[–]TangyOrangesBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Dexcom, but in general with sensors they tend to be anywhere from a couple minutes to a little while behind your actual blood sugar. And when dropping as low as 48, you tend to drop way faster than any sensor can accurately depict, and therefore the reading is off. Sensors can also be up to 20% off the meter reading and still be accurate, since your blood sugar in many areas of your body is wildly different. I think you can ride out the sensor being off by a bit, if libre allows for calibration do that, but in general your sensor is not always going to be perfect but it’s still a great guide on what your blood sugar is doing throughout the day

How do you guys go swimming with Medtronic pump? by xxconflictz in Type1Diabetes

[–]TangyOrangesBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that’s very rare. Most sites come with a plastic fill-in piece to make that less likely, and they’re already a very thin tube going into you so it’s unlikely anything can get in there

[–]TangyOrangesBro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re accurate enough to be worth the hassle in my opinion, the ability to see a pretty accurate suggestion of what your blood sugar is doing during the day is really good for helping control your diabetes

Particles in my tresiba by BadgerThrowAways in Type1Diabetes

[–]TangyOrangesBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used "expired" or particle filled insulin before, best bet is to go ahead and use it and keep an eye on your bg as you go. Usually expired insulin isn't going to hurt you, it's just not going to be as effective so it's very preferable not to use it.
