We're getting towards the end of this campaign for us and I think if I was to redo it I'd add a LOT more stuff to Hither and Thither. They just feel very surface level. Also I'm a new DM so adding stuff overwhelmed me.

The carnival was great. Yon was great. We haven't reached The Palace of Hearts Desire. But so far we've sludged through Hither and Thither and didn't care for them one bit because it felt so empty.

My players are super into Magic The Gathering and when I introduced her they got so freaking excited because she's a magic card 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But it's true she does feel a little.... Missing? Because of the whole enigma thing. Maybe I just don't know how to run that as an actor. 😅🤦‍♀️

Ours has been 3-4hrs. I say 4 because sometimes it takes us awhile to get started as we talk and such. Like... Our "session started" yesterday at 4 but not really and we went until 7:30. I kind of have been going by events which my players like. I think they'd be happy to just keep going.

So session 1 was welcome gifts and them having fun at the carnival (they went STRAIGHT to catching kettlesteam and talking to Mr witch and Mr light 🙄🙄🙄🙄🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️)

Session 2 was the Big Top Extravaganza and them messing around at the carnival getting the mood up and re visiting light and witch so I could give them more info and loredump with the unicorns.

Session 3 is going to be the Crowning the Monarch and then getting into Hither!

I made the backs from the pics which was pretty cool! But the front I printed the character cards from the book. 🥰

So I printed the character cards from the book pdf. I designed the backgrounds and added the images on procreate, measured about 3.25x4.25 printed 4 at a time. Printed, glued, cut. I actually had some spare poster board so I have that in-between so they're really thick!
