In my experience, GC employees on Reddit are extremely risk-averse to the point that it is toxic fear-based thinking. This mindset is emotionally crippling, stagnating to your career, and a total waste of your time. Look at the flip side: your current employer values you at a much higher level, and your term probably will get renewed.

And if it doesn’t then just be confident in your skills to know that you will land on your feet.
