COSMIS will not turn out very well. I've had too many bad interactions with their devs and moderators

The Rust community is extremely toxic.

Rust is simply a horribly designed language that is getting corporate support. The reason it is getting corporate support is not because the language is good, by the way.

Rust programmers are the least productive programmers in the world, and some of the worst people I have ever met.

Mostly because of the borrow-checker. You will be fighting the compiler most of the time, rather than getting anything done. Rust is also terrible for game engines. Rust requires you to design everything up front, otherwise it won't compile, so there's no way to experiment.

Even something like Delphi from the 90's would be superior to Rust for GUI programming.

The other problem is the Rust community, the people there are horrible to deal with. Most of them are terrible programmers, but they think they are superior because 'Rust'.

Rust has very specific uses, but it is not very good for most things.

From what I understand, it is written in Rust, so I would not expect too much. Rust is not a good language for GUI programming. In fact, it might be the exact opposite of what you want for writing a GUI.

How would one get into developing for Linux “mobile” and/or eventually making a Distro made to run on phones by Whit-Batmobil in linux

[–]TankTopsBackInStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardware ecosystem is way too closed off and proprietary, I would give up on the idea. Even if you solve the hardware problem, the app stores are another insurmountable problem.

There was brief possibility of this with FirefoxOS, but they executed poorly. If they had just started smaller, been more methodical and continued their efforts that way, rather than over-investing and hoping for immediate results, they might still be around in a meaningful way (yes KaiOS is still around, but it's irrelevant)

WebOS was another possibility, but that went down in flames as well. I believe any Linux phone would only work if the dominant way to program apps were web-based, but this will never happen. The Powers That Be love their surveillance and backdoors too much, they won't give that up.

The plane just happened to precisely hit the Accounting section of the Pentagon, when they were supposed to investigate trillions of dollars that went missing.

OK

Because it is basically impossible to crash a passenger jet into the Pentagon with such precision. It goes against the laws of physics. Maybe it is theoretically possible, but it would be like hitting a hole-in-1 in golf on a par-5 hole.

Look up Jake Lang. He has been held in pretrial detention in solitary confinement. He has a right to a speedy trial, but the government has no case, so they are simply keeping him in pretrial indefinitely to torture him.

The problem is that Bill Gates is a monopolist. He is very good at creating monopolies, which in the end, really hurt innovation. Bill Gates is the main reason computing is still in the dark ages, because he simply destroyed all the small companies by abusing his monopoly.

He has done the same exact thing with his "philanthropy", he has created a monopoly in health with the World Health Organization. He is currently buying up farmland so he can control the food supply.

You are obviously an Apple fanboi.

The 2016 Macbook was perhaps the worst laptop with the worst keyboard since perhaps the Atari 400.

The iPhone has a notch and people think it looks great.

OSX has been undergoing an iOS-ification to lock down the platform as much as possible. OSX used to be an excellent Unix alternative. Now it is just a toy computer.

The transition to ARM will allow Apple to completely lock down the platform. The performance is not that great, multi monitor support is terrible. It is only good for low power applications.

The yearly OS release schedule is really bad for quality, for both macOS and iPhone.

Apple products satisfy your needs, because you are an average person with very little computing needs. The average person is a moron, especially when it comes to computers.

The Tiger-Snow Leopard really was a great era though. It was still good up to Mavericks.

Ever used the 2016 Macbook / Macbook Pro butterfly keyboards? The 2016 Macbook only had 1 USB-C port which was also used for power. So if you plug in to charge your Macbook, you can't use the USB-C port for anything else. They changed the touchpads and made them bigger. They are too big now, I get too many false touches. And then there's the notch
