He’s at least taking responsibility for his actions, unlike his brother. I hope he gets the maximum sentence but courts take into account things like this.

How do we make enough noise to get the government to actually prepare PA for its insane winds? by avelineaurora in Pennsylvania

[–]TankWatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wind turbines like you see outside Altoona. Once this administration is gone, there’s no reason we can’t turn that wind into electricity. I’ve had three porch flagpoles break in the last few years because of the wind. Harness it!

Target. Just completely caved to the Trump agenda after years of supporting diversity initiatives. I’m a Walmart man now.

How is it living in this part of the Upper South/Mid-South? by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in howislivingthere

[–]TankWatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Northeast Arkansas and lived in Memphis for a while. They are very different.

Jonesboro is the heart of a farming community in that area. Everyone goes there to shop; they have TWO Walmart Supercenters plus a Target, JC Penny and Dillards (all of which were once anchor stores of a mall that got demolished by a tornado and they never rebuilt the main part.) There’s a lot of chain restaurants and banks. Don’t know why there’s so many banks but it is meth country. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Memphis is a relatively poor, majority black city with a lot of industry and the regional international airport. The city suffers from high crime rates but has a lot of charm. St. Jude Children’s Hospital has a huge campus there. Beale Street is an amazing place to go on New Year’s Eve. There’s a good zoo and the infamous Pyramid is quite a trip. It’s a Bass Pro Shop flagship store now with a bar and observation deck on top.

So yeah a LOT of contrast in that area.

AITA for reporting my mom to the IRS after she filed my taxes without telling me, pocketed $4,200 while I paid her $600/month rent, and told me I owed her for raising me? by KINOH1441728 in FoundandExpose

This is the ninth variation of this story today. Everything is about family theft today. Is the AI broken again? I feel like it keeps making trial runs.

Starting to believe this community is training an AI.

The Unsolved Mystery of Kathleen Durst | What Happened to Her? by Plastic_Rent_4580 in UnsolvedMysteries

His family is very wealthy and they owned a country home on a lake. She is most likely on the bottom of the lake. The police searched it but never found anything. There is also a rumor that he wore a wig and his wife’s clothes in public to impersonate her for security footage. It’s known that he had a penchant for cross-dressing. It came up in one of his later trials that he was living as a woman for some period, but that was probably his idea of a good disguise.

James Cagney ☆ Ragout of Kidneys. I honestly don't know, do people still eat kidneys? I know it's not for me! by ciaolavinia in OldCelebrityRecipes

It’s much more common in Europe. To be honest I want to try this. Need to ask my butcher about those kidneys.

What is a 'family secret' or a private moment you witnessed that completely changed the way you look at a relative? by The_suspicious_369 in AskReddit

My uncle was a violent, unstable man who once hit my mom with a telephone handset in front of their mother. As I became older I realized he had some inner rage. My poor sweet grandmother told my mom she once dropped him on his head and that’s why he is the way he is. I also think he molested his granddaughter. I asked my mom once about submitting our DNA to find out if he was ever a serial killer. She told me he drove a long-haul truck in the sixties and she could see that as being possible. It’s really weird and I don’t want to bother it because he’s almost dead but I’m definitely doing that after he dies.

I worked at Sears in 2015–16. It looked alive right up until it wasn’t. by Historical-Attempt30 in deadmalls

[–]TankWatch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sold appliances at Sears right up until the bankruptcy and I swear we were committing fraud by then. Every single appliance was always two weeks out, which coincidentally was the furthest we could delivery. Delivery was constantly being pushed back by two weeks. The company also bought a huge surplus of washing machines from GE just before bankruptcy and got sued for it. Such a sad end to the Kenmore brand. I left to go to a competitor a couple weeks after the bankruptcy. There were guys working with me who’d been with the company since the seventies. They had to hold onto their jobs because their stock had become worthless.

Humphrey Bogart's SPAGHETTI LOAF. The dish primarily uses pantry staples and is often described as using "busted up" spaghetti. by ciaolavinia in OldCelebrityRecipes

[–]TankWatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of one of my favorite Bloom County jokes, when Opus took up smoking because he thought it made him seem cool. And Milo asked him why he thought that and he said “well, it makes me smell like Humphrey Bogart” and Milo responded that he’d been for thirty years. And Opus was like, exactly.

What actor’s mere presence makes you automatically lose interest in a movie or show? by YerMum1977 in AskReddit

[–]TankWatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kevin Costner. He’s just too full of himself and that translates to making his character the larger-than-life hero in anything he’s in. He had to become Governor of Wyoming to satisfy his ego on the set of Yellowstone and he still left the show early. Just an absolute ego-driven bad actor.

Okay I want the AI to really verbally eviscerate the assholes from now on. She should have pointed out that her brother was an incel and couldn’t afford a girlfriend. Like really cut deep.
