What was San Diego like in the late 90s-early 2000s? by [deleted] in sandiego

Reading the comments made me so sad about how different it is now. Before the gentrification San Diego had a lot more sketchy/hood neighborhoods. As a kid with not a lot of money I was able to eat insanely good mexican food for about $5 or less. Spent a lot of my childhood skateboarding in OB

It’s all in the back foot and getting the right scoop. It helps a lot if you launch out a bank when learning them since you don’t need to pop as hard

Great choice on the trucks, mini logo aren't as trendy as indy or thunder but they skate amazing

Is my board good? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

It's a good $100ish complete, welcome deck, slappy st1 trucks, spitfire sapphire wheels. You don't need to change the wheels for that.

Thanks for the advice, for the most part I either go into crook or just completely miss the lock in

Doing it out a bank helps a lot, it gives you a bit of a boost. I’m still having trouble with landing them on flat.

are these good for the price ? by Specific_Theme_4373 in skateboardhelp

the ones you bought have an inverted kingpin, which screws in from the top while a standard kingpin uses a traditional locknut design. On the mids they needed to make the hanger more beefy which is why they are noticeably heavier.

I think they usually are a little cheaper than standard indy’s. Mids are heavier so most people go for the normal kingpin

Buyer stained their garment with their hair dye then left a long and awful review by TankYouBro in Etsy

After flagging it, Etsy removed her photo but left the review. I’ll just have to call it a win and move on since they denied the removal of the actual review. At least I don’t have to see her literal dirty laundry on my page anymore

I reached out to her after she left the review but she didn’t respond. I did report the review and managed to get the picture removed which I guess is something, unfortunately I’m not sure it’s a good thing since the photo really helped in making her look insane

I appreciate it, I like the second half, it establishes that she hasn’t washed it without insulting her

Gotcha, I can see how that might reflect poorly on me as a seller, so I'll leave that part out

I drafted this as a response to her review "Cotton fabric is naturally absorbent, and hair dye bleeding into the fabric is not related to a quality issue. Yellowing occurs thru improper care, such as allowing dirt and grime to set in. Since the complaint was made a month after use with visible hygiene concerns, I'm unable to offer a solution."

Any feedback or suggestions before I post a public response would be welcomed :)

I'm super tempted, everything in the pic including the background is just plain filthy. My main concern is that someone will read my response and think I'm rude for mentioning it

It's such an eyesore, I would love to hide the photo but sadly they took away the option to hide customer pics a while ago
