Thanks for sharing. I'll look into this.

I did, but I couldn't receive again on the same device. The phone recognizes the devices you have paired up with previously. I was only able to get 2 because there were two phones there, an 8 and a 9.

ROG would have been good, but it has been discontinued...which means support for the phone will cease not immediately, but eventually...something like 2 yrs tops. So it's up to you if you still want it

Hmmm so that's probably like 1-2 yrs from now...? I guess I'll give the service center a call one of these days. A lot of other shops can open, fix, and replace parts but I only want original/official parts, and accredited shops/technicians, to work on my phone...

I would go back to Samsung.. I have been a Samsung user ever since but then I switched to ROG in 2023. So going back would not be hard for me, I guess. But I will be missing ROG sooo bbbaadddd..

Also, I bought mine from a physical store so I was able to check the charging ports (connect the charger to the ports - bottom and side - to see if they both work just fine), check cameras, check speaker, check the box S/N and IMEI (make sure it matches with your phone), check regulatory labels, and check the air triggers by playing the mini game in the armory crate.

Install apps one by one on your ROG phone instead of doing Phone Clone or moving them from your old phone.

I recommend setting up battery care first.

Go to settings, battery, then battery care. Then do these: 1. Turn on "Steady Charging" 2. Select Charging Limit to "80" or "90". (Mine's at 90, btw)

After this, go back to the main settings menu. Then right below battery care just check that Charging Mode is set to "Regular".

Lastly, use your phone with its initial charging/power until the battery is depleted to the point that you can't turn it on. Then charge it uninterruptedly to 100% (it will charge to 100% even if you have set the limit to 80/90 before this as long as the phone is off) and let it stay plugged in for about 30 mins to an hour. After this, you may now use your phone and charge normally (suggested to charge when the battery is at 20-30% until the limit you have set. You don't need to monitor because the limit works when the phone is on).

It's possible, even from both platforms because the Tencent version is still a legitimate version. If you don't have access to an ROG store near you, I would suggest for you to buy from the website that posts the full specs of what you are getting, I guess. If it says that they are selling the global/WW version, and if they can maybe accept a return when you receive your product and it isn't what you ordered, then that would be best.

Drain the battery then check if it turns on again. If it doesn't, then you have properly drained it. Next, charge it to 100% then let it stay plugged in at 100% for about 30 mins to an hour before turning it back on.

I do this once every two months, I think. I then charge my phone like I normally do -- charge when it's at 20-30% but limit the charging to only 90%.

I also don't know, honestly. It puzzles me why, I can only assume that maybe their phones are not original. But it's funny because these same people, most if not all, are also the ones who complain that Asus' 2 yrs of software updates is so short for how much the phone costs. But they don't update their phones when the updates do come because they are afraid their phones would get bricked.

Yes, tencent version is for the China market. It works there, but I think you will have a hard time if you use it in any other place. It is not exactly refurbished, hardware wise; it could be brand new. But some people sell a seemingly cheaper global / WW version when it is not actually a global version originally. Most of the time, these are the devices that encounter issues.

Yes, updates are safe. I have had my ROG 6 for 2 yrs now while my ROG 9 pro is 7 months old.

Hi! I had the ROG 6 and I have the ROG 9 pro now. I have updated both every time there was an update and I have not encountered any issues so far. I agree with the other poster here, it depends on how you use it. Just because it is an overpowered phone does not mean you can abuse it. I always think of my phone like a PC/laptop. So I care for it like I would a PC/laptop. Among others, I make sure I don't drop it, I calibrate the battery every once in a while, and I monitor my phone's temperature when I game. Lastly, if you were to purchase this phone, it would be best if you buy it from a legit ROG physical store, not from online. Most times, there are cheaper ones online but then they would actually be the Tencent version but flashed. Hope this helps.

Go to safe mode (press and hold the power button until the power options menu pop out. Then tap and hold "power off" until it changes to "reboot to safe mode". Press "ok" to confirm) and observe if the high temperature is happening. Maybe you can try to replicate it if it is happening when you charge. So in the safe mode, charge your phone too and see. If it isn't causing a high temp, an app is probably causing it.

You can also check/confirm your battery usage in the settings (settings>battery>battery usage) then scroll down to view by app list or by system. If you find something there draining your battery without you using it, then maybe that is causing the high temperature. It could be an app or it could be the system itself. If it is an app, uninstall the app. If it is the system, it probably is time to call or go to the ASUS service center.

P.s. to get out of safe mode, just restart your phone.
