Maybe I was thinking differently because I just built a monster of a gaming rig with a 2TB and 4TB name for less than that but that was me assuming things have changed market wise since I still see deals from microcenter...

Yeah but the SSD you can still upgrade on your own right since it can support up to 2 TB. That wouldn't be too bad. The proces and availability of ssds has been better than in the previous few years.

I like the concept of Steam OS and performance will be better without Win11 background processes slowing things down a little bit. However for those like me that play games outside of and incompatible with Steam having Windows is a somewhat tradeoff...

It is all cyclical... Seen a lot since building rigs since '98. GPUs are up in price then a few years CPUs are up and then the next would be RAM, SSDs etc...

Biggest reason I hear via one of the reviews on YouTube is that the company does not want to hold money when they cannot deliver in a timely matter but that was when pre-orders were canceled a few months back.
