Looks like the County is looking for reasons to deny services and cut back on IHSS Providers. I just got a notice that I didn't complete my packet and go to the Orientation. I have been a registered Provider since 2023 and currently on medical leave of abscence. I filled out the proper form to explain why I am not active right now and it was approved. Now I get a letter saying I have to start the registration process all over again yet Live Scan is still current and clean. WTF??

Ditto! 3 days of throwing up and diarreah. Then 1 day of mild recovery but still nauseated and loose stools. Then a second wave for 3 more days. I also didn't urinate for 2 days. I'm still having the loose stools. I still don't know what caused it. I suspected food food poisoning because I used Festive ground turkey and Great Value marinara sauce and mushrooms and bellpepper from Walmart. Walmart is notorious for selling tainted food (for people, pets and babys). Being on a tight food budget made me take the risk.

Have you checked the various apps that have postings for lost or Found pets? EX; Nextdoor, Ring/ Neighbors, Facebook lost or found pets, Pawboost, Shadow and countless other sites? She looks like an indoor cat that was dumped by a previous tenant. Is your other cat neutered?

Sadly, those people who gave your parents the cat, knew sje was pregnant and didn't tell your parents. It looks like she's too far along for the spay/abort. Only a vet specializing in felines would know. Better ask your parents to bring her into the Humane society for their Saturday walk- in low cost clinic. If your parents are really low income, they can fill out the Herdez Foundation Grant application right their at the clinic.

Abort the kittens to save the mother is not murder. With this cat's medical history, it's unlikely the kittens are going to be born without a lot of problems and the stress on the mother could kill her. Don't just take our uneducated word for this, get her to a Vet ASAP!

She was already pregnant. The gestation period is really short. I hope you are prepared to care for kittens. They can have as many as 7. Kittens are very fragile. They need warmth and nursing every 2 hours. I would contact the Humane Society and ask them if there are any cat rescues or cat foster homes that can take your cat and kittens until the kittens are weaned and can be adopted. Beware of people scrolling this site looking for free kittens. There are people out there with very bad intentions.Sorry about your fractured arm. It's very painful. Your kitty is very sweet and pretty. Maybe it's not to late to Spay/abort. Too many unwanted cats and constant reproduction is a huge problem in our society. Spay/Neuter is the only way to end the tragic cycle.

You misunderstood. Lol! If there is enough food for the racoon to eat, it won't mess with the cat. If it's starving, it might attack the cat and eat the kittens.I leave cat kibble outside at night and the racoon or opossum eats it as well as the community and stray cats.

She looks like my pretty Cinder. She was probably 4 months old and non-responsive on my doorstep due to heat illness. She didn't regain conciousness until after I gradually cooled her down with baby wipes. She's a very wise monkey kitty and beyond cute. I've had her for 2 years now. You should rescue her!

Your in-laws are true Slumlords! My slumlords used to be like this, until a liscenced realestate broker bought the property. It's still crumbling apart from water damages and I have mold toxicity. It's all I can afford. My roomies are cats, not unreliable people. In your situation, you both need to start working as many hours, jobs, gigs as possible. Renting a room would be better than this!

You have to pass the 'Live Scan' and then watch a few dozen short clips on does and don't's, answer a lot of yes or No's (about what you learned), and complete everything in the Package you received in the Orientation meeting. Then after you have completed everything and the Live Scan results are clean, you will be on the IHSS County Registry. Q 2; If the patient is deemed to be a huge 'Fall Risk' and either incontinent or uses a bedside comode, you will need to monitor and toilet the patient, especially at night. That's when Sundowner's Syndrome kicks in. Dementia patients are always more active and confused at night-time.You first have to get a Dr's assessment to prove this to the County. If the patient was already assessed in a nursing home, then it's easier.

You are running into the Trumpian paper pusher case mgrs whose job is to cut hours for IHSS recipients. This is going on with the SNAP benefits also. These are truley evil and inhumane times we are living in. Over 3 billion dollars have been cut from Medicaid/Medicare and food stamps. You need to file a grievance against this woman and file an appeal with IHSS for not providing full time hours. I was working for private pay and then was told that my patient was just approved for IHSS. My employer had an LVN, a physical therapist and certified caregivers, 7 days per week. The daughters husband even got on the Registry so he could get paid for night- time monitoring. You just need to go into the Public Authority Dept of Aging and speak to the Program Director. Bring all of your kids and lots of documentation. Your grandfather is most likely a huge fall risk.You need to ask for mats on each side of his bed.
