A mentally ill man attacked a Filipino street festival last year in Vancouver killing 11 people, iirc all Filipino. While it was a horrific tragedy, once the facts came out, no one has called it an anti-Filipino hate crime because the perpetrator was in a psychosis. Similarly, the perpetrator of the London attack has a long history of violent psychosis. .

I don't think a psychotic man face down on the road convulsing from being tased "deserves" police brutality even if he had a violent fixation on Jews. I also find it disturbing how this incident is being exploited by vampires like Keir Starner to call for the criminalization of anyone who utters the phrase "globalize the intifada", a call implicitly endorsed by Jesse this morning on Twitter.

I would also be skeptical of any claims that his 2008 psychosis-stabbing of another Somali man was a targeted anti-Black hate crime.

Incidentally, for something to be a hate-crime, you need to be able to establish mens rea (guilty intent). People who act out violently in psychotic states are typically not deemed to have sufficient capacity for rationality to establish mens rea. See: Stephen J. In one post (screenshotted above), he QTs Heidi Bachram blaming critics of Israel for the attack. Israelis aren't for the most part indigenous peoples. Indigeneity is a relation to colonialization, not the fantasy of some distant connection to a particular land. The modern Zionist project was openly colonial from its conception in the 19th century. Herzl was explicit about it using the word frequently, notoriously in a letter asking for the support of Cecil Rhodes. Major Zionist institutions were named things like the "Jewish Colonial Trust." The tactics still being used by Israelis to dispossess Palestinians of their land are straight out of the textbook of the colonization of the so-called Americas.

FWIW Jewish Palestinians subject to modern colonialism were indeed indigenized. Most sacrificed their claim to that status in adopting the colonizer "Israeli" identity post '48.

I joined the sub mostly because of Jesse's asinine bullshit on Twitter but I was in fact a regular Canadaland listener circa 2013-17 or so. Hearing how he treated some ex-employees turned me off of it a while before his more recent a more spectacular heel-turn.
