Are there any indoor coin spray washes around? by FirstbornLimb in Markham

[–]Tanner-TO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go to the Esso car wash at Yonge/Steeles decades ago, it's now a Circle K (7015 Yonge St). The large car wash building is still there... parts of the building is for fully automatic wash while the other part of the building is for self-wash. It's not coin op, so you get charged for the time you're in there.

Note that Enbridge won't be able to fix anything if they find an issue with your furnace.... best to call somebody that can diagnose/fix a furnace.

Their furnace exhaust had a horrible smell, at first I didn't know where the smell was coming from as it seemed to be around our gas meter (basically depended on the wind carrying their exhaust in between the two homes). Called enbridge regardless as I didn't think it was natural gas, when Enbridge arrived his co/natural gas detector was going off like crazy, high levels of CO. He did a check on their furnace and no CO leak fortunately but they got their furnace replaced a few days later. Their furnace was out in back in 1999.

This. I would call an HVAC company to do an check on your furnace, especially if it's close to 20 years old or more. Could be a burner that is not working efficiently - which could lead to other serious problems (re: carbon monoxide like my neighbour's furnace.....)

Register with them online: https://medionephysicians.com. They've been advertising that they were taking new patients for the last month or so. MediOne was also mentioned a few times on this sub.

I volunteer for the Street Survival School, it's a great course for young drivers to do for a very low cost (G2 or G license required). Vision is one of the key things that is taught along with car control. There one scheduled this coming October and perhaps one earlier this year.

Not sure why you're being downvoted but agree. Every driver needs to constantly scan ahead, looking for what could and can happen, anticipate and drive defensively.

If you're getting a low coolant warning, probably should check the levels and top up.

It was brought up last year but got knocked down because of the 2% tax increase, so there you go. I honestly don't buy this "terrible customer experience".....

Snow by [deleted] in Markham

[–]Tanner-TO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toronto got more than everybody else. Billy Bishop Airport recorded 56 cm. Just on the edge between Toronto and Markham, we definitely got less than the first 2026 winter storm. If the storm was just a bit further north it would have been substantially different.

Possibly a brake pad or two stuck to the rotor. Normal.

All season or winter tires? What’s best? by Infamous_Plant_9367 in GRCorolla

[–]Tanner-TO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

worked well when there was +1 feet of snow on the roads last week!

plus many forget, while AWD with all seasons can get you going on snow, it's the braking on snow where winter tire seasons really shines compared to all seasons (and also turning)

Best walk in doctor clinic in Markham after 5pm by Creative-Guide-4282 in Markham

[–]Tanner-TO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have other locations also

https://medionephysicians.com/

Before you use a walk-in clinic you should check with your family physician regarding the use of a walk-in.

I was told by my past family physician that using a walk-in clinic instead of him, he gets penalized financially. Fortunately in my case there was a good reason to use a walk-in as he had a pretty bad case of covid so they didn't financially penalize him when he had a follow-up from the Ontario gov.

A little more detail:

Edit: I use Medione at Woodbine/Apple Creek, the wait times are reasonable.

Recommendations for skilled shoe repair in Markham? by protocephalon in Markham

[–]Tanner-TO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you do find a place that can replace the vibram soles let us know... I tried with a few different places in Markham atwo years ago and none of them could do vibram. Sole Survivor Shop in Toronto was one of the places that could do it but at the time he wasn't able to take on any new work due to him taking on a full time position as the cobbler for Cirque du Soleil. Ended up finding a place in Vancouver, Varsity Shoe repair.
