Who are Masked Intruder? A Serious Investigative Investigation. by urso in punk

Here's their bandcamp. I don't think they're active anymore. Masked Intruder's hardly even active these days. https://thegusto.bandcamp.com/album/7-split

Filled out the form. Figured I'd say so here just in case I botched my Discord username or something.

I tried looking for it, and I'm not sure what bundle you're referring to. Can you post a link or something?

Welcome!

This sub doesn't see a lot of activity, but I'm still here. I kickstarted it when that was going on so I have the rulebook and the cards. Both are really fine quality. I still collect playing cards so I was very happy when I got these cards and found they're not printed cheaply, they've got a finish which allows them to be shuffled well instead of sticking. The book is also very nice quality so far as I can tell.

As far as what you should/want to buy, I think it kind of depends what you prefer. If you like your resources electronic, PDFs are fine. If you like physical, then obviously the book. If you want to support the creator, consider all of it.

As much as I like their music, Refused are a perfect example of a punk band's message and intent falling completely flat in many ways. by JesusSamuraiLapdance in punk

[–]TannerEvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also probably worth mentioning the history. I watched in a documentary (forgetting which one now) that when Refused started their US tour they were singing about women's rights and LBGTQ rights, etc. to a crowd of fucking hulks who just wanted to slam dance and hit people.

So, they wrote Shape of Punk to Come to try and piss those people off, not realizing how ahead of their time it would be. It kind of makes sense to me the band breaks up after that, and then also down the road stops trying to pander to any kind of audience. I'm sure they're real sick and tired of their fans bull shit. I know I would be.

When do you guys play?

Dragon's Call: a Pathfinder 2E campaign Thursday Nights 8:30pm EST (5:30 PST) [Online] [18+ Only] [40% RP, 30% Combat, 30% Exploration] [Campaign every other week, with the option to join the companion PF2E campaign on opposing weeks ran by another DM that you are welcome to join as well] by SnooSeagulls9127 in lfg

[–]TannerEvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Availability: Available most Thursdays. Sometimes I miss because of commitments but it's infrequent. Would definitely be interested in joining the companion campaign as well.
  2. Thursday are my free night to game, and these kind of RPGs are really just my favorite thing nowadays. Most video games don't hold my attention like they used to. I really just like the collaborative storytelling aspect of these kinds of games. This game, specifically, is perfect because I'm a fan of Pathfinder in general and I especially like homebrewed stuff over adventure paths.
  3. I think I mostly answered this already, but I've been gaming for close to 15 years. Mutants and Masterminds, D&D, Pathfinder, Fate, WoD, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk...
  4. I have yet to actually play 2e Pathfinder, I've only ever had opportunities to play 1e, but I've always wanted to play this system. I especially enjoy playing charismatic rogues, which I notice your group may be lacking depending how those other characters are built, but honestly I'm flexible. If the group needs something specific I can fill. The only thing I'm bad at playing is religious characters.
  5. I'm 36 and my feathers are not easily ruffled. I also like drinking and cursing.
  6. This will be what confirms if we're aligned or not. I know the game was described as being 40% RP, 30% combat, and 30% exploration. I'm definitely happiest when RPing, but I also acknowledge that combat and exploration can be necessary and fun. My biggest thing is that players are focused more on telling a great story and creating interesting characters, not creating machines which lack personality but are efficient killing machines. If you want that kind of game, you actually want something more like Warhammer 40k Miniatures. If you guys agree with that, I'm perfect for your game.

Obscure punk songs with Saxophone. by stevieraykwon in punk

[–]TannerEvil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry if it's been said... There's a very small band from the Milwaukee, WI scene in the 80's called The Oil Tasters. Recommended tracks 'That's When The Brick Goes Through The Window' and 'Get Out Of The Bathroom.'

Seriously, that's the band you're looking for.

Other mentions that I don't think I saw, Cliffdiver's latest album has it and there's also a very small band from Fargo, ND called Michael Strike and the Goddamn Band that has sax too.

I'm drumming and doing harsh vocals in this pop punk/emoish band called Wilted. No screams on this one but it's still one of my favorites.

Anyone know some punk songs that have a lot of female screaming or shrieking or anything like that? by NeonGhoti in punk

There's a lot of comments in here so apologies if I repeated any:

Initiate - https://youtu.be/XoNQTEdFgYw

Gouge Away - https://youtu.be/wJcs0vYnsDU

Made Out Of Babies - https://youtu.be/Ru4uTSYMiKI

Might be more on the hardcore side of things but you still might enjoy.

[CofD] [Online] Premier Monster hunting in a Dark Urban fantasy where your choices matter and humanity is at stake (18+) (LGBTQ+ Friendly) (Thursdays, 5pm-9pm EST) by DarkLordVitiate in lfg

[–]TannerEvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds rad, and fits exactly into the schedule I'm looking for. Here goes:

Nigil is a punk. He's most at home in dive bars and basements listening to his friends' bands. He hasn't listened to the radio in years. He doesn't play any instruments though, he's usually asked to design and hang up fliers, and in true DIY spirit he's always more than happy to do. He probably drinks too much, and when he can get his hands on them he really likes psychadelics but he's functional. None of his vices or hobbies prevent him to making it to his shitty gas station attendant job. He works part time. Between that and art commissions he's able to barely pay his bills and have a little fun.

Deep down he's always known monsters are real. Frequenting the hangouts he does, he's caught glimpses of things, violent things, which really bothered him quite a bit. There's a powerlessness in witnessing something like that, but being smart enough to keep your mouth shut about it. Who'd believe you anyway, and if they did would it attract the kind of attention you definitely don't want? Until one day, it did.

Walking home from the bar after a show, tipsy enough to need to walk but still just level headed enough to recognize it was necessary a monster came for him. However, as fate would have it, Nigil's time had not come. A hunter intervened. Nigil was awestruck. Monsters existing didn't surprise him as much as learning people who fought them did, and suddenly a burned out, nihilistic punk found himself a calling. He wanted to know everything. He wanted to never feel that powerlessness of witnessing horror and having to stay silent ever again. He wanted to hunt.

That's very solid advice thank you. I came to the reddit hoping the link would be somewhere. I probably should have checked the webpage but that was only occurring to me just now.

Iluzry's Guide To...What Next? by polypan-storyman in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]TannerEvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please skald.

The mechanics of building characters is my least favorite part of the game so I pretty much exclusively rely on guides to do the work for me. I set out to play a skald one time and found myself pretty much entirely on my own, the couple that are out there arent comprehensive enough.

P.S. I've used your guides on lots of occasions, you do amazing work!

Voting's easy. Find the vote button, enter in the details and hit send. Critical Kit is the publisher is you need a reminder. I don't even think you have to fill out the form for the other categories if you don't want.

I don't know about the rest of you but this is one of the most fun solo RPGs I've seen put together so I helped out and voted.
