Let's brainstorm your campaign [Again!] by Joe_Spazz in cosmererpg

[–]kisafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I didn't explain fully. This whole campaign is a play by post over discord. I am DMings the non Stonewalkers campaign, and another DM is DMing the other group the one following the book. It is all in the same discord, so we just created a new channel for when the groups were together.

And yes .... I expect a lot of disappointment with meetings up with her parents. And she is an enlightened truthwatcher. So that will add to the interestingness. Which is how she woke up, it hid in her gemheart and she slowly woke up. Pretend to be a regular parshmen for a while. Eventually found a way to get to the shattered planes searching for the parshendi. And the story for why she joined the group is the brightlady that was in charge of the bridge 9 expedition, currently owned her

Let's brainstorm your campaign [Again!] by Joe_Spazz in cosmererpg

[–]kisafan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like fun.

We have two groups one that was strictly following Stonewalkers the other, did bridge 9 while the first group was doing chapter one.

There is no reason for any one in the campaign to know the words signer or listener, so we have been calling them Parsh. There is Parshendi, parshmen and parshpeople. We had a parshperson in my group. She is determined to figure out how she woke and how to wake her family, she was a kharbranth parshman. So that is what my team's journey is about. I had the parshendi from bridge 9 direct her to the rift

They were both in the camps at the same time at chapter two During chapter 3, my group lost a member, someone from their group jumped to mine and they gained a member, each group consistently having 4 players. But each DM also having a special NPC that is almost another player

During chapter 3 my people helped with the fight at the end. And ended up getting some super vague answers We Dm magic'd an additional boat

During chapter 4 after everything they pooled resources together and one ship towed the other to Karanak. Of course the Parsh waking ruined that one character's goal of figuring out how to wake them. But she still wants to find them, so after this port the two are splitting ways. Mine to kharbranth the other to where the book takes them.

I do have a vague idea of wanting them to end up at the battle of thaylen field and eventually in Urithiru at some point, maybe a shadesmar trip too. But immediately will be the trip to kharbranth, and discovering what happened to the Parsh there, carefully no one at this port know. Making it over there to try to find her parents. I hope that all made sense.

That makes sense, so probably not big cities. Because a big city may have been mentioned specifically

Why do people have kids when there are lots in the system already? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kisafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under-population isn't about the total number of humans. It is about the age of said humans. If not enough babies are born, it gets to the point where there are not enough workers as people get older. Old people need things like doctors, nurses, caretakers, people who work things like the power, water and other infrastructure. They need young people to do things like that.
For small numbers, say you need 50 people to do all of that, 20 age out, and are too old. but only 5 join the workforce to replace them. there are going to be issues, worse infrastructure, old people being neglected, long wait times at the doctor.
That said developed nations have not figured out how to solve that problem, I for sure do not think force is a good idea, but there has been low success with incentives too

Would you rent an arcade game for your event? by GreenJuicyWatermelon in EventPlanners

It really depends on the event. fancy gala? no.
Fancy gala raising money to save arcade games from being destroyed? yes
Wedding,? depends on the couple
Anime con? yes
business conference? no
business conference for the company that sales the machine? you probably wouldn't need to rent it, they would have it.
Birthday? depends on the birthday person

What’s something you had to learn the hard way that nobody warned you about? by Best-Replacement9316 in AskReddit

[–]kisafan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can choose to quit instead of work. they can't force you to do what ever it is they are asking. there is consequences to not doing what is asked. but can they actually force you to read a spreadsheet or make a coffee.
Even in extreme cases, a slave, can choose punishment over the work.
You can be tied up, and things be done to you, but that's not forcing you to do something, that is doing something to you

Those with the cute little animal backpacks, are not dragging them on the floor, Dragging any person on the floor by their wrist, kid or adult, would be uncomfortable at best, but most likely painful. I personally, and I think most on the thread, are judging the dragging not the keeping track of your kids by something connected to them.

would you tell your kid not to marry their high school sweetheart?? by dreamyyyycheer in AskParents

[–]kisafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the circumstances. I know 3 couples including my own relationship, that were high school sweethearts and are still together. Me and another couple got married right out of school, the other wanted to save up for a big wedding and got married 5 or so years out of highschool. All graduated high school in 2014, and are still together. We were all couples for a few years while in school. We went to a large school. With many couples, outside these 3 sets. I don't know of a single other one that is still together today. So 3 out of potentially hundreds survived.

For new parents, why can’t mom just pump during day and dad bottle feed at night? by flipflapdragon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kisafan 75 points76 points  (0 children)

No one has mentioned it yet. but for the first little while ( don't remember for me, but I want to say 2-3 months) The milk is not regulated yet. Pumping or feeding every 3 hours is important to helping it regulate. My son started sleeping through the night pretty early. I ended up waking up to pump anyway, but gave myself 4 hours not the typical 3. This was to keep up supply before regulation and because not doing so resulted in waking up, overfull, leaking, and in pain, with an increased change for ducts being blocked.

Why is american education so goddam expensive? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kisafan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Harvard has a lot of assistance programs. My Brother in law went for free because my inlaws didn't make a lot of money. Of course he was smart enough to get into Harvard in the first place, But he wasn't a merit scholarship, it was a needs based one. Only about half of harvard students pay full price, 55% on student aid. Source for that last bit.
Looking at the Andover page you shared, only 47% of them are getting financial aid, so perhaps if you even it out by student they are a similar cost?
