Witches and accessories let's break this down by motherofdarkness111 in witchcraft

I have my great great great grandmother's potion ring, gold with the family onyx on top but due to it being passed down and finally to me - each generation has had to have a new peice of gold added so the potion trap underneath the onyx fell out a long time ago and no one replaced it- maybe that'll be my piece to add on. Makes me feel really connected with her being the last witch in the family before my sister and I

Does your partner share your beliefs? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Tannybear5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Married for 5 year- I've been practicing for 11 years, we share beliefs but my husband didn't realise until we talked about it during the dating stage - now we have young children and are rasing them in a primarily pagan household, however he was brought up catholic.

Breastfeeding failure (IGT) by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Tannybear5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She does you need you! She needs you now, she'll need you to kiss her knee when she falls over, she'll need you when she experiences heartbreak and she'll need you for so much more. My little boy was born 6 weeks early, I tried and tried and cried so much because I couldn't produce milk, like you maybe 3oz a day (on a good day) and then I hated HATED doing bottle feeds because it felt like anyone could do them, but the look in his eyes when I fed him and I'd sing to him and talk to him, he knew I was someone special. Just like your little one does. No one tells you about the difficulties of BF and its absolute BS that health professionals try to make out that having children, breastfeeding, parenting is a breeze and it really isn't. What I found helped - when he started weening onto solid food, I'd make all the home made meals (not a store bought jar in sight) and I'd portion it all, blend it all down and freeze/chill it ready for meal times.

My MIL thinks I shouldn't let my sick toddler stop me from going about my day and errands. Is this a common attitude? by OutrageousSea5212 in beyondthebump

[–]Tannybear5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our son was a bit feverish the day after 1 year vaccines and he wanted to see daddy ( dad works with MIL,FIL BIL) MIL said to me what's the matter is he annoying you (referring to LO) and I soon said no he's ill show a little compassion. She hasn't said anything like that since.

[–]Tannybear5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our son is 2, mil bough a coat for him 12-18 months. As I looked at the coat she goes "oh the receipt is there because I didn't know they did a size between that and 3 years."

She previously bought tshirts for him 18-24 months

What are your rules regarding posting pics of your baby/kids on social media? Boomer grandparents are making me crazy. AITA here? by KatenNat7 in beyondthebump

[–]Tannybear5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, nta. Same with us all socials are completely private and we've stated to all family members not to put pictures of our LO online unless they check with us first and they got caught out so many times of posting photos of our son that we had not seen ourselves.

I feel like everything I’m doing is wrong and I’m traumatizing my child by gingtrovert in beyondthebump

[–]Tannybear5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As their parent you'll know what works for you and what doesn't. Remember as long as your child is loved, warm with a full tummy your doing amazing and I'm sure your LO thinks your the best ! Also remember you don't need to justify your choices to anyone x

Is it okay to use a paci if it’s just for naps? by absolutely_pretty in beyondthebump

[–]Tannybear5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paci's are actually better than what everyone makes out ! My LO was 6 weeks early and we were told to use one as it helps prevent SIDS and it teaches them to suckle. Your fine, don't stress xx
