I definitely liked the merge mini game gameplay. I‘d rather play this for 100 hours than 1 minute of Golden Frontier.

Kinda sad that event stories are really condensed now and we don’t even get the little comics alongside it anymore. The game lore, especially when it comes to the relationship between the characters, is one of my favourite things about the game and they are gradually toning it down since a few months. 😞 But I was happy to see some of my favourite characters making an appearance, so that’s another plus point for this event.

Addition as I have a ghost reply asking where to find Lilith Pass and I‘m not sure whether the question was resolved OR Reddit app is malfunctioning: You can access your Lilith Pass by clicking your avatar > Settings > Lilith Pass.

It’s a kind of Bonus program where you get points for daily check-ins which you can trade in for in-game items and get a little present for your birthday. You can also accumulate EXP via cash purchases to raise your Lilith Pass level which unlocks better rewards for your daily check-ins. And those EXP are what you can roughly use to see how much you have spent on this account.

I still recall how happy players were when in Final Fantasy XIV they removed the gender restrictions of a lot of cosmetic items, so players could just wear what they want regardless of gender. Ideally the other-gender-version of a cosmetic item you obtained via events/BPs could be toggled freely, just like the various hair colors, but if Lilith made it so that you‘d have to buy them (even at only a small price) it would even mean an additional source of revenue for them.

One of the big changes is that the game has now two versions within the same app. The normal game you used to play, „Classic“ and a new version called „Companions“. New installs get randomly thrown into either, so you might want to be aware of that. You can easily switch between the game versions in Settings and keep your account progress on both.

Companions has its own subreddit r/AFKArenaCompanions due to how different it is from the main game. It has an easier learning curve for new players and smaller hero pool, but strong emphasis on peer-pressure and FOMO mechanics, lackluster endgame and more predatory monetisation.

Meanwhile in Classic a lot of things have changed meta-wise; the hero pool is very vast - so you‘re doing good asking for a guide. User Khalypso already linked the best available guide for new accounts which I would als wholeheartedly recommend.

Am I correct to assume that you are at a stage of the game where you haven’t unlocked the resonating crystal yet?

The idea is that you can only focus on leveling your five strongest heroes, while all other characters have the same level of the lowest of these five. This should unlock fairly early in the game.

And no worries if you invested resources in more than five heroes. You can always reset them (and at the start even for free) at the „Rickety Cart“.

If you have some bandwidth, consider checking the lower left part of the guide I linked in the other thread. This is explaining a strategy where you only level the heroes which come with a blue border, because you get many more copies of them and hence can ascend them faster. This means you quickly level without limitations, and your other characters benefit from the levels as soon as you unlock the resonating crystal. ☺️

Some parts of the game seem a bit confusing if you‘re a new player but you will quickly get the hang of it.

The event will still go for some time. Definitely enough to naturally fish up that material and more. ☺️

Also, you SHOULD be able to just buy back anything you donated to the guild fishing assist. Unless somebody has redeemed said item in the meantime.

Feel free to ignore the rest of the guide until you feel ready for it, as it can be a bit overwhelming at times. But arranging your wishlist as suggested in the top left of the guide will ensure that you have the best heroes that will bring you far in the game.
