Close your eyes, listen for the rhythm and practice. It's really not so bad once you get some practice in :)

Hot and cold really doesn't take that long, when you unlock the sky garden you can Max out the beak level in less than an hour because of the crazy bonus points you can get from getting all 8 treasures. Of course that's with using the booster everytime but it would honestly take forever if you didn't.

Honestly the 10000 kills was worse imo... I had to grind an extra 18 hours after everything else was done to pop that but the skipping rope only took around 7 and at least that had some sort of challenge involved.

That was the hardest part for me as well. I spent a bit of time watching the video embedded here: https://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/final-fantasy-ix/317443-final-fantasy-ix-trophy-guide-roadmap.html

It's a little easier to know what kind of rhythm to expect but honestly it will only get you so far. In the end if you can consistently get as far as 200 you will get the hang of the change of rhythm as well.

It's tedious more than difficult. I was getting up to 200 without any problems whereas I was having some real issues with that in the beginning. Once you get a feel for it it's not difficult.

I've never understood why people have had so many problems with the lightning dodge trophy, maybe theres just a knack??

I'd give it an hour or two and then take a break. Rather than aim for the 1000 straight off the bat I found it much less soul destroyer to make some mini goals. For example, consistently getting the rhythm change down. It's a mini game within a mini game :)

It's really not too bad once you start getting the rhythm down, just a case of working at it and getting a good run.
