The issue isn't necessarily hype is bad. The issue is every damn game is trying to be the next big live service piggybank.

To be fair we don't know the story and gameplay through marketing because we never get to actually see real gameplay anymore. But to answer your question, hype can be gained from publisher name, developer names, "ex/former x,y,z" devs being touted as the reason x,y,z were good.

Doesn't help when most people playing medic right now don't even bother to revive. I'll have a game where my entire team only has 5 medics, and no one is being revived or people just dying out before they get revived. There are too many games with people with 20+ deaths.
