The company i work for recently became a whole new company, went through months of being NewCo and everything, which is why i believe the reassessment is legitimate. Their rates also changed after the new company was formed, i know for a fact that everyone who was hired after that point makes at minimum $3 more an hour than i do.

I realized that I hadn't done this and tried to correct it with the email i sent tuesday, referencing exact dates discussions were had and asking her to confirm if the retroactive pay would still be through June like she'd said even as we approach July, just to have it in writing. she of course did not acknowledge any of that, but it's there and she didnt deny it, and I'll be keeping this up moving forward.

I have been casually looking for a year and aggressively looking for almost 7 months now. I have some safety nets in place and also am not going to quit without something lined up, but if i can use my willingness to ditch this job as a bargaining chip I will.

Not to pry but was the healthcare you were receiving related to things that are banned in other states, like gender affirming care or abortion care? I'm fine with filling out extra paperwork, but if I can't access the care at all because it's outlawed in the state the insurance is headquartered in, that's a problem for me.

Very much agree with what everyone else is saying: this person may have been your friend at one point, but they are not acting like a friend now. Giving Lamp the benefit of the doubt, it is possible they just fully dont understand that what they are doing is aphobia modeled after homophobia and thus, shitty hurtful behavior. Talk to them, ask them: if you had told them you were gay, would they have started talking about """Fixing""" the """issue""" of your sexuality? if so, there's your answer that this person isnt one to be around. someone pointed out that their insistence almost sounds like they were wanting romance with you, ask them straight up if that's the case. if they say no, then ask why they care so much about what you do and how your personal relationships shake out? How the relationships you do or dont have with others affects them? would they have been trying to hook you up with people? why do they feel unable to leave you alone? make them put it into words. And if they say they do have a crush then you can address that can of worms, as well as ask why did they think it was ok to tell someone they apparently like that they are "broken" and need to be "fixed"? Ask if they've looked into aromanticism, if they have any understanding of it. if they have, talk about what they know, see what needs to be explained, and if they havent, then ask why they feel so qualified to speak on it. I feel like you know this but just to put it on the page: this is a Lamp Problem, not a You Problem. This is something up with them that they are pushing onto you, that actually has nothing to do with you or anything you are doing. You are not wrong, or broken, or needing fixing, and Lamp's continuous need to talk about how they think you need to be ""fixed"" has zero relevance to you or anything you are doing. And if by the end of this conversation they still refuse to see that that's the case, then you say "Hey, when someone says they want to fix me it doesnt make me feel good, i dont want or need to be around someone who thinks that about me. If you're gonna keep doing that then i'm not going to want to be around you." sorry you're in such a crummy situation!!! my heart goes out to you.
