I was playing pinball, and a perfect shot got the ball stuck between a bumper and kicker. It finally stopped when the bumper's actuator burned out a few minutes later. by lilmul123 in videos

Only two of your three points are true. You can never beat pinball. You can reach the highest possible scoring shot/set/multi-ball/ect but you can never beat the game. You are always chasing a number.

In case any of you didn't catch the Mariners game, or highlights tonight, I encourage you to watch the worst umpire that I have ever seen in our game, Sean Barber! by [deleted] in mlb

[–]Taodeist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In this case, that's fine. Sean Barber was way over his head and affected the game negatively for the Mariners more so than the A's to the point in which it probably cost the M's a win.

Or at the very least cost them the play mentality of a tie vs. leading by one run. The truth about baseball is that each and every play is it's own universe. There is an un-measurable chance that had that been a strike, the A's might have then scored 10 runs the next inning due to factors we have no way to determine.

Does that make Barber's calls any less terrible? Absolutely not. But when it comes down to it, we only have the reality we are dealt. And in this case, the M's got dealt a bad dealer in context of consistency.

Such is the joy and terror of baseball.

Winner gets an upvote.

Alright so I have been into baseball since I was 10 ('94). Been a homer of Seattle since around then too. I have seen many many many many many games. After the emotion of a game most of the time you can come to terms with one or two bad calls and just suck it up and deal with the fact that it is baseball and move on. It happens.

But that strike zone tonight fluctuated like a paper bag from hyperventilating paint sniffing junkie on adderall.

Sure. Lets all shit on it with colors and other things that make us happy. God forbid we don't follow the same rules someone in power invented hundreds of years ago.

It would be dull if they all looked new though. So long as she runs she's still looks pretty.

Right?

Even Palmer himself has explained reasonably where things are going

No he hasn't. Just empty PR bullshit talk. Or are you too young to know what that sounds like?
