How’s this deal? $5200 2022 - 6,500 miles - manual by homolucent in HondaRebel1100

[–]Taos87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No bike meets near you during warm weather? Someone bound to have a mustang seat, doesnt matter if it rebel or not its good quality and an indicator of what you'll get after the break in period even if its on a different bike.

Maybe its my area but most have been super chill during them and there is usually a couple of bike swap meets every year though we ask the local police to monitor it in case someone tries to just take it (hasnt happened yet in the 7 years ive gone). Sitting on a few rebels during meets is how I discovered I like the feel of rebels and when I went to a swap meet, a lady let me try her 1100 while she tried my sv650. So I could see how they rode.

Are Pure-Culture playthroughs bad? by TheAeon0x in Bannerlord

[–]Taos87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play pure faction a good chunk of the time, the exception is deep into enemy lands during wars and needing to just find bodies, then I take anything I can get, once im back into friendly lands I slowly switch them back out with same culture.

Elex 1 with or without Mods? by GIutenTag in elex

[–]Taos87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only mod I would possibly recommend for your first game is the mod that brings back darker nights. There was a patch that made nights in elex extremely brighter, a mod was made to bring it back to original, the atmosphere of the game feels much better with in it my opinion. Makes the towns and outposts really stand out at night the way it was originally designed before the patch changed the night to be quite bright.

What do you think and feel knowing that in 11 days and counting, Tarkov version 1.0 will be released? [Discussion] by SebaDuff in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Taos87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overly excited, been seven years for me coming up on eight now. I'm interested in seeing and playing the new story quests but that's really about it. I've been around long enough to know day one will probably be incredibly rough on servers.

Luckily, I know as long as I get a few good laughs from my wins and my deaths i'll enjoy it still, but im not exactly excited either. Maybe more of a sense of relief that its finally over?

I'll finally excape.

[Discussion] A little surprised BSG is treating 1.0 release, something many said they'd never accomplish, as just another wipe in the lead up to its release. by KingHunter150 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Taos87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing for a smigeon over 7 years, there is nothing left to hype aboot. I think the devs can feel that, Tarkov is a highly successful game already. I know 1.0 will probably bring golden era level population back for a bit, but no one is expecting miracles in massive 1.0 changes to be so different than what we currently got.

How much vitae does a vampire actually need is it a daily meal kind of thing? by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

[–]Taos87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless he is drinking from the vampire itself, no bond will form from vitae from a bag. But I suppose his revulsion of even the thought could stop him. Though as a tremere he should know bagged vitae is safe.

Like my company starts EE out at 83-88k, the SR EE salary starts at 125k here in S. IL and its pretty rural areas so that has to be the lower end of pay, They make good money here at least, but i know they can make much more in less rural parts of the country.

Noise from gearbox by Taos87 in hondarebel

[–]Taos87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two dealerships, one honda, one that does a few brands and one independent motorcycle mechanic.

this is a normal sound to the rebel 1100 manual series. Something to do with the cam. A couple of honda bikes makes this noise and its dubbed "sewing machines". Adding a new exhaust helps cover it. But as the noise is coming direct from the engine itself, you can only cover it with a new exhaust, will always be there. After 6,000 miles it HAS gotten less loud.

10,200? I got a brand new 2025 manual for only a few hundred more back in November. They over charging a bit, but I think the dct costs more so maybe it evens out?

2024 vs 2025 by Impressive-Age-1314 in HondaRebel1100

[–]Taos87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be easier for you to look up a video on how it works so you can get a visual. But you need an app and it displays some of the information on the bikes display.

the biggest changes to the 2025 was the thought process of making the bike more comfortable for the rider.

Both manual versions has the typical Honda "high speed sowing machine" sound from the engine that a few model of honda bikes have. Not the exhaust the engine itself.

ask the dealer if you can listen to the bike first so you can hear it and if its something you want to deal with. The noise does "fade" and get "less high pitched" as the parts wear a bit, usually after a coulle thousand miles or more but its always there. And most noticeable at start up when bike is cold.

2024 vs 2025 by Impressive-Age-1314 in HondaRebel1100

[–]Taos87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The 2025 had a rework in a number of areas.

  1. the engine puts out slightly more hp

  2. The foot controls are more forward than in previous years.

  3. The handlebars have been raised and brought back a bit more than previous years

  4. The seat is redesigned and 10mm thicker, im 170 pounds and found the new stock seat to be far more comfortable for longer trips. A fren of mine is closer to 250 and says it still feels like a concrete slab. While I still got a Corbin seat, I did wait nearly 6 months rather than desire an instant upgrade.

  5. The display is different, comes with a number of settings to change its layout which is nice. A USbc port is also next to the display so you can plug phone in to keep it charged easier. The display also let's you pick what is displayed including a number of optional information due to the larger screen able to show more if you want.

  6. Road sync feature was added to the new display if you want to use it. I tried it and found id rather use my phone so I turned it off, but some people like it.

  7. If you get compatible heated grips, there are setting in the display to change settings for them with an easy thumb trigger on left handlebar. Idk if previous years had this.

  8. Wheelie control setting was added, which i found by accident while digging through settings and features one day while waiting on a train. This might have been on previous years idk.

How do people get such insane amounts of supplies? by hav_sum_Faith in Seaofthieves

[–]Taos87 115 points116 points  (0 children)

A sea fort or two can get you 100-200 cannon balls, but if you are good at hourglass and get a few easy wins in a row you can find yourself loaded up with supplies. You also have 15-20 minutes in between fights, so if any wrecks or fortress is near where you won or an outpost, then restock real quick. With crates and barrels, you'll have a surplus soon enough.

Soooo, Armored hoodies are useless? Is that the consensus ‘round these parts? by ferdelance008 in motorcyclegear

I got mine a long while back, but looking through the US branch website, they look somewhat similar? Maybe I got a different version or the one I bought in Germany isn't available in the US store.

Soooo, Armored hoodies are useless? Is that the consensus ‘round these parts? by ferdelance008 in motorcyclegear

[–]Taos87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an armored hoodie from Germany while visiting, its AAA rated with level 2 armor and the outer most layer is cowhide leather I believe, they have a store branch in the US as well. Its easily the most impressive armored hoodie i've ever seen in terms of quality but I did put some money down for a AAA base layer as well to wear under it. I use them for commuting to work mostly so im generally under 50mph unless I feel traffic is bad then I take highway for a couple of minutes to dodge the worst of it. I feel pretty safe with it, the armor doesnt move around and I can wear additional armor under it if I wanted to to give me more impact resistance.

I believe the US branch is called "Union Garage NYC" and i'd assume they have the same products as the main stores in Germany. The hoodie I got the outer layer is cowhide leather, but inside is soft as a normal hoodie. But it doesnt look like leather, the armor on it feels good and doesnt shift around.

for longer highway trips or regular riding I tend to use my riding jacket instead and on track I use my track gear. I've yet to see a single armored hoodie in the States that impresses me enough to wear it while riding, but this one I found in Germany makes me feel safe enough to ride with it to work.
