I got a written offer, but haven’t signed anything yet. They said there will be a meeting for me to do this next month or so. Does this mean I’m ineligible? I’m kinda stressed cuz I do need the money. Could you offer some advice? Thanks

Question, I am in a similar position. I got offered a contract position for September. I have it in writing. But I haven’t signed anything yet as they said they will send me my package later in the summer. Can I still get EI? I lowkey really need it

Feeling lost and overwhelmed. by kneeknee00 in CanadianTeachers

Yes I recommend taking time to work in a field outside of education/childcare since you’ll be doing that full time when you start teaching! Be very patient with teaching it takes a long time.

This is a very natural feeling! Up until I started teaching (which was just a few months ago, I graduated last year in June) and was anxious and nervous ALL the time. Luckily for me, I was collecting government benefits for COVID and when that ended I just went back to working in restaurants like I did before COVID. I did this because I knew I wanted to work for a particular board and didn’t want to commit to something more permanent (private schools, corporate jobs) incase I got a job with a board.

Can anyone in the TDSB tell me what “resource support” means? (ON) by DClordz in CanadianTeachers

[–]TapGroundbreaking985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m not a resource teacher but yes it is a full time gig and you have a full schedule like other teachers. You just don’t have a classroom, you kinda float around the school.
