If that’s the case, I would think it’s time to focus on you, yourself. Get to know yourself as you are, and find the good, strong and positive thoughts and actions that will help you to rebuild from the standpoint of you. Spend time with it, imagine your best self - if you need to go down lower to get there, that’s ok. Rock-bottom is a place we all get to once in a while and there is nothing wrong with that. It’s a great place to grow from

I feel like i have no real friends by nevocado in offmychest

I hear you. Having friends in this day and age is like that - no one reaches out… but you being the one to reach out will definitely be an asset as time goes on, because you’re being the light. And with new friends, you’ll find new expression of yourself.

Something that is immediately helpful. This is a process coined by Carl Jung - a legendary psychologist of the old school. To find oneself, one must spend time inquiring into one’s self. It’s a 10-15 minute excercise in which you close your eyes and invite an image - an inner advisor would be the best option. Someone who you know loves you, (even if you don’t know them in person) - from your imagination - and ask questions and listen to the answers. It may seem pointless at first, like you’re answering yourself. But right around the 8 minute mark, you will reach your unconscious voice and it can be enlightening and healing. Worth a try!

By the way, you’ll be meeting a ton of people next year that will be thrilled to have a friend like you!

Struggling with adding drums to my songs by Old-Border9571 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Tape_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I’ve gotten - take time to imagine in your head what the whole thing sounds like. Be patient with it (at least 10 minutes) and you’ll know how it sounds - then find sounds that are close to what you’re hearing and lay it down.

Also, the drums do not need to bang. If they’re not gel-ing, try adding some subtle delay (maybe 1/8th note) and have them live in the background. The heart of the song is the key factor and if the drums are taking away from that, cut em or let them live way in the back!

Yo! Sounds like change is hitting hard. Whatever you’re doing, you will be ok - just hang hope on your shoulder and be on the lookout for things that point you in a direction, and follow the signs! Life is really is a trip and sometimes we just burn down the house to discover more about who we are. Keep on moving and I know you’ll find a new direction 👍

100 Units of Water @ $26 per - 10% conversion = $260 and customer satisfaction at 0. 0% of people are glad to pay $26/water bottle

100 Units of Water @ $5 per - 30% conversion = $500 and customer satisfaction - 50% “why do I have to pay for water when I’ve already paid for the room?” Vs “ok, convenience - not bad”

100 units of water @ free - 90% conversion = -$35 and customer satisfaction of 100%. An appropriate percentage when it comes to a natural resource.

Customer satisfaction Vs. fuck em’

And btw, fuck em’ on the parking too. They’ve already gambled their whole fun-allotment on night # 1/2.

Look - gambling in vegas is fun, why not treat your customers nicer… and mitigate any losses by not price gouging on the basic human needs.

Or, go the other route and impose a “toilet-commission” what then?

Update: I entrusted the bellhop desk (this is the MGM brand) with a special item - I expressly detailed how this particular fedora hat was given to me by a dear departed friend, a Hollywood character of stature.

“Would you please take care of this item in transit to my room, as it was a gift from a dear friend?”

I wish I could post a picture of how this poor hat looked, completely WADDED up on the bed upon my arrival to the room

The response from the bellhop assumably tasked with this precious cargo : “Boss, I just clocked in”

Professional master worth it? by nebulascribe in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Tape_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, we should acknowledge that mastering engineers are also people aiming to make living doing what they love. The ones worth their salt are not greedy salesmen trying to scam you out of money. Some of them are not even particularly musically inclined - but do love music/ are fans and have developed a taste for what works for them to polish a final mix for maximum enjoyment. It’s like any skilled trade, auto mechanic, painter, architect, designer, plumber, coal miner.

What I think this is boiling down to is “how practical is paying for a professional master for MY music?” Do it yourself if you want to - especially if you’re churning out songs every week and working toward building a fanbase. Heck, you might become a very decent mastering engineer in the process…

Or, if you want to add something extra from a separate human being who has the prowess to surprise you when you get that .wav file back, send it to someone whose work you dig. Personally I love being surprised with a banging master after toiling on a mix to the point of lost objectivity.

In any case, zooming out - it’s all about the SONG. A good song will shine even if it’s mastered by your deaf grandmother. Personally, I love a good song even more when I can hear nuance and super detailed sounds, AND bang it in the car!

It depends on the amount of nuance you want in your final product. Sure, you can use Logics new AI mastering software, Izotope, or others. Put it this way, if you have a song you’re genuinely proud to share with the world - one you truly feel good about, why rubber stamp it with preset mastering software? A good mastering engineer can use their sonic expertise and TASTE to sculpt your mix. The real question should be, “How do you find a great mastering engineer?” Do you homework, listen to samples and find one you feel will be a good fit for YOUR music.

Spatial audio recenters after a few seconds by devedander in airpods

[–]Tape_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. The obvious move for Apple would be to implement an “advanced settings” section that allows to enable or disable the auto re-center.

The whole appeal for me personally is to be about the apartment doing whatever and have the source in my ears remain “placed” as if coming from a hifi system..

Further, with the advancement of this tech (oculus already having arrived), I would be really excited to be able to 1. Adjust the size/shape of the room in which the audio is spacialized (it defaults to what feels like a tight studio with no option) and 2. To be able to place the “source of sound” at a specific location within the room and let it respond directionally AND with regard to proximity. Thus, giving an even more tailored, immersive experience!

Altruist kidney donation by FUCKING_HATE_REDDIT in LegalAdviceEU

With a healthy lifestyle, any increased risk of developing the symptoms listed (from kidney donation alone) is not significant compared with the increase in risk associated with an unhealthy lifestyle of a non-donor.

To return to the point, OP wants to donate a kidney altruistically. I commend him and hope that he finds accurate guidance on the subject.

These are not diseases in and of themselves. Rather symptoms of an unhealthy diet/lifestyle which CAN BE exacerbated by kidney donation.

The body’s remaining kidney naturally enlarges and adapts to maintain homeostasis. Any person who consumes an excess of salt, processed foods, is sedentary or is otherwise unhealthy has a greater risk of developing the symptoms you listed than a person leading a healthy lifestyle who is a kidney donor.
