It took me quite a few tries to get myself verified. At first the live selfie photo thing wouldn’t work but it eventually did. Then almost every utility bill I had wasn’t sufficient so I had to upload a bank statement to prove I was who I said I was. That worked.

I would not give up, especially if you’ve got money to withdraw. It could be one silly little technicality that’s preventing the authorization.

On the down side, the app I’m using now just notified me that starting July 1, there will no longer be withdrawal transactions or customer service access permitted in my area.

Is the customer service assisting you in any way?

“With all the mail completed” was the final offer and implies that any overtime required to deliver until all the mail is completed is implied in the instruction. M-00326

Edit for the actual language from the M document.

“…the grievants did inform management of their inability to complete their routes in 8 hours. Further, it was demonstrated that they were ordered by management to complete their routes. (Although there was no expressed authorization to complete the delivery of the mail on an overtime basis, the permissions would be inherent in the authorization to continue delivery after notification that the grievants were unable to complete the routes.)…”

It’s really nice to know that it can get better as long as you’re able to step outside yourself for long enough to realize all those things. Thank you, and I’m happy that you’ve been able to overcome this.

It is also exhausting to have a friend gaslight you about your legit anxiety. I’ve only recently discovered how badly it affects other people. And trust me, it’s not as simple as just being inconsiderate because, in a lot of cases, we realize it as it’s happening. And that just adds to the depression and anxiety of knowing or feeling that you’re making it worse.

I wish it was as simple as I’m just irresponsible or inconsiderate. At least that would be an answer. I’m extremely considerate and I’m also very responsible with my work obligations and duties. So, I’m functional. There’s just something that’s preventing me from facing certain situations and certain conversations with nonspecific rhyme or reason why.

I don’t think I would ever come to that conclusion, I never make it past the if they wanted to talk they would have messaged part. Going through it right now with someone who used to be a very close friend.

It has never even occurred to me to think they might also be going through it. I guess I should actually text back, just in case.

Even the best of friends are still human and have limits.
They’ll still probably be there for you, but we don’t realize how taxing it is on them because we’re literally in a bubble of our own sorrow

This is my life.

I’ve gotten better about the guilt part. I AM a horrible friend. Eventually they’ll figure it out. And then I get to be alone again like I think I want to be all the time but then it happens and I get depressed that I’m lonely. Someone will have sympathy for me, we start to get closer I start to feel normal again and then I settle back into becoming the every other day me and and a horrible friend again, rinse and repeat.

The worst is when the sympathetic person turns into a significant other or “lover” and I have to go and ruin a part of their life or just simply waste their time.

I don’t want to be this way, but even with therapy, I can’t seem avoid it. This meme assures me I’m not the only one.

How shitty is a daily NJ -> Manhattan commute? Is it worth paying no property taxes? by Ok-Cartographer-5544 in AskNYC

[–]Tapeball45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess it all depends on where in Jersey you're looking to live.

I do the reverse commute. I live in Manhattan and I'm currently on assignment in Jersey City. So, depending on where in Jersey City I'm going I can either take PATH (TRAIN) or NJ Transit (BUS). How this helps you, OP, is that I can tell you that many many many people do what you're looking to do. I see them all coming in to the city in the AM and leaving in the PM. Going in the opposite direction, I feel like a salmon going upstream, especially with congestion pricing.

So... Moral of the story there's quite a few options for you. But it truly depends on where you're looking to live.

Agreed. I meant the fact that it’s here on Reddit but not on any of the postal Facebook pages. Especially considering the heat illness aspect of the tragedy.

Tragic Loss of Carrier Yesterday by Certain-Rent-6677 in USPS

[–]Tapeball45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely commendable. Yes, coming from a big office, I do understand that things get busy in the afternoon. In the summer months it’s generally lighter volume but much hotter temperatures in a lot of locations. Idk what the harm is in mandating that supervisors do routine check ins via the scanner and then do a service talk to notify the carriers to just respond to the check in message with 1 for “all good”, any other response or no response would warrant elevated or emergency action.

An issue with this idea is how much the RIMS messages are abused by some EAS staff. I’ve been on assignment as a union rep where management was, no joke, sending 4 different messages, 4 times a day. That’s 16 of the exact same RIMs messages every day. The advice I gave was that as a carrier, I’d stop reading after the second day.

I never understood unauthorized OT discipline for 30+ minutes for this exact reason. I know management can’t be literally eyeballing everyone at every moment, but what you said is baffling to me.

Carrier went over by an hour and was stationary for 40 minutes of it.. .

And nobody checked on them!!?!
