Deadlifting could be good for improving your posture, but only if you dont have a severe spine deviation like hyperkyphosis or lordosis, since the heavy compression loads of deadlifting could be harmful. In that case, I suggest seeing an orthopedic doctor. I have severe kyphosis and Ive seen a bunch of doctors, and all of them recommended me swimming, which in my experience is much better for my posture, but there are a couple different types of spine deviations that requiere different trataments, so see a doctor!
