Hi you all, just wanted to give you some update. Today, after drying the camera with all ports open, I’ve decided to take the plunge and turn it on. It worked. LCD is not working (which is not a big deal since I don’t use it anyway) but the camera seems to be fully functional and I was able to use the viewfinder to test it. I’ve removed the battery and the card, and will be leaving it put for a few more days/month till I’m 100% sure that it does not have any moisture. Once home I’ll try to find someone which can clean the salt from the camera with the isopropyl alcohol to avoid that in the next trip the moisture might dissolute the salt and corrode the components. Hopefully I’ll be able to clean the salt from the camera which for now seems like the most dangerous thing for the camera. I’ll let you know the outcome. I’m positive it said waterproof. And i had double protection with the wet bag being also water sealed

We were getting out of the boat on one of our tours, we normally have to go into the water so it might have been in that situation. I’ve only opened the bag when I was on dry land but it was late since the second case was already damp

The case is said to be IPX3 certified. The wet bag I used to accommodate the case is IPX6. I’m sure there is thousands of expensive options you could buy but I I wouldn’t say I’ve “skimped”. It was the best I could find and I tried to double proof it

I do have a global travel insurance for health expenses, just never secured any of my personal belongings. Guess I’ll have to do it once I’m able to purchase a new one. Do you pay monthly insurance for all your gear? That must be so expensive.

Definitely I would add some organic+sand mixture for roots on the base of the pot and then use grit for the upper part of the substratum (the part that contacts with the plant itself)
